Low fps in gameplay

In the tutorial the framerate can stay at 60 fps all the time, but in normal gameplay, the fps can drop below 30 fps and the gpu/cpu are not fully utilized.

 

Any fix?

If you have SLI or a dual GPU, you need to play around in the nVidia / ati control panels to get them to take full load. As for CPU, I don't know.

It's a single 680

Then it must be a driver problem. My 590GTX only required setting up one option, because its a dual gpu, in the nvidia control panel, profile for SimCity to get both cores to run the game.

Wrong. I have done some googling and found out that the issue is caused by poor CPU optimization .

They tested the game with i7 3770K and GTX Titan, the fps never exceeds 45 fps in a big city

The I guess 590GTX has no match other then the 690GTX.

I tink we have to wait maxis to add multithreading support(The simulation engine can't take advantage of more than 1 core/thread) or hope that the upcoming haswell processors will be able to handle simulation with 1 core/thread
