There are topics about this already. It's just the way the game fills up empty space. If you want to delete it, you have to delete the road that it's connected to. If you can't do that try reloading the city. If that doesn't work...

I picked up an abandoned city and cleared the map. I was wondering why I was seeing "no access" symbols on the map. They seemed to of disappeared after awhile though.

I always lay a dirtroad on top, this way you don't have to destroy the connecting road (that might be connected to other buildings as well).

I have tried many many different ways to destroy but i simply cant. From meteor to earthquakes, zoning it and dezone,  houses building on top of it, and plopping buildings, it simply doesnt go away.
