    That's not a glitch either, it's not a one time occurrence... that's how those roads are joined... You're right, laziness.

    I doubt very much that it's down to laziness. I think it's EA forcing Maxis to stick to the spring release slot as this game wasn't really ready to be launched till summer imo. Not enough testing and too many things need changing that are fairly easy to get picked up in the first place.

    Its not lazyness, its just the game was pushed out well before it should of been. I was saying that before the game was released when all these glitch photos were being posted, when people were insisting it would be fixed in a day one patch. I was like...yea maybe it will get fixed on day one patch..(they ran into MUCH bigger problems LOL), but the fact these existed as the game was gold and during those marketing demos (sorry they were not betas, they just were not) showed to me that the game never entered the "polish" state before the CDs were stamped.

    This may be true, but Spring is 3 months long (and it hasn't even started yet).  They could've easily waited till June (or later, summer as you said) and fixed so much stuff. 

    None of us would've complained.

    They could've done an extended BETA test (like 2 weeks or even a month, no time limitations), which would've shown all the current "release" errors, graphics, traffic etc... and then fixed it prior to the release in June (spring).

    On some things I would accept the answer that EA forced Maxis to this early release date, (The horrible path finding being one of them)

     

    But something like this, would take a artist and a "half" decent programmer about 20 minutes to fix. (if that)

     

    So laziness is the answer. Which is a shame, Maxis USED to be a good company.

    The graphical glitch set aside, this is how I recall roads transitioning in CitiesXL. I have *NEVER* seen a transition between two different road widths like this in real life. *NEVER*.

    That is one graphic feature that irks me; those intersections between street-to-avenues. Plus tight street or avenue corners are all trapezium-like intersections to. I do miss those tight corners of SC4...

    This profile is now defunct.

    Computer problems and issues with accessing my Imageshack account meant My SC4 CJ Scrapbook was lost and utterly irretrievable. This setback put me off SC4 for many months.

    Apologies for the inconvenience and for the lost pictures.

    But that SC4 itch did not go away and it had to be scratched! I have started afresh with a new account here- The British Sausage

    The URS is a spiritual successor to the SC4 CJ Scrapbook.

    With this update this will be the last time I visit my original Simtropolis account- admin/mods feel free to remove it or do whatever you need to do. I have no further use for the Ln X (BLANKBLANK) account.

    It's bad enough the transition looks freaking retarded, but look at the right hand lanes on the streets going into the grass of the avenue! WTF!

    The roads are almost exactly like CXL.  I suspect they bought them from the same vendor.  I doubt they wrote them themselves.  The terrain looks close also. Same kind of graphical glitches, the same look on tunnels.  I would check but I'm locked out of the game because the servers down. :party:

    I'm kinda glad I waited to purchase. It looked like the game we wanted. I'm still hoping these issues can be fixed, but my BIGGEST issue is the lack of transportation options. NAM has been out for more than a few years now, one would think that the SimCity team would know what the current trends are. They keep leaving comments like "we'll pass it on to the dev team for consideration"...don't they know that we have been giving suggestions for over a DECADE on fan site such as here and SC4 Devotion?? I mean, it's not hard to see what we want by what we create...am I just crazy??

    WOW! That's not a bug??? They actually said, "Yeah! that looks good". Hard to believe. They were not finished with this yet....at all. If they thought they were knowing this...............

    During the Beta there were obvious issues like this. Remember the road intersections that put the grass walkways right across the road? I thought to myself HOW on earth could they have not noticed that themselves? It makes you wonder how much they even played the game with such obvious issues.

    Then you have the parks.

    They don't look great to begin with and they don't even fill in the gap between the roads.

    Dirt roads don't intersect right, always left with a partial road for a 4 way.

     

    And speaking of roads, how about an option for regular BLACK TOP roads?! I either have to from dirt:
