  1. I doubt very much that it's down to laziness. I think it's EA forcing Maxis to stick to the spring release slot as this game wasn't really ready to be launched till summer imo. Not enough testing and too many things need changing that are fairly easy to get picked up in the first place.
  2. 2 words: Electronic Arts
  3. How RCI works

    1) you SHOULD separate 'I' away from your 'R' as the pollution from 'I' will reduce the land value of all surrounding area. Also 'I' ground pollution spreads germs. 2) you SHOULD NOT separate 'R' and 'C', you simply place 'C' in the centre of you 'R' 3) you SHOULD check the population tab at all times to see if you are lacking workers or if you have jobless. edit: bulldozing generates pollution as well as far as I know so be careful of not over-dozing
  4. If you click on your university and select the edit button in the highlighted box (I'm at work so not sure what it's called lol) you can then remove individual addons for that building via the bulldozer.
  5. While I agree with the principles of what you are saying, I myself am a lot more cynical of this game and expected a lot more from one of the greatest game franchises ever to be released. Be it little things like invasion of busses from by friends neighbouring cities, to more pressing issues like regional play been delayed by 10-20 minutes and downright stupidity of the traffic management system (or lack thereof). As someone has pointed out further up in this thread, the game feels like a premature birth that needs to be nurtured to become ‘our baby’ that we can love and adore and spend many sleepless nights with.
  6. The only thing that I would suggest is checking that you are not lacking workers of all wealth groups. Nuclear Power Plant - $200 $$600 $$$240
  7. I normally stick my water pump + sewage treatment plant right next to the nuclear plant to make sure it has the highest priority when it comes to water. Secondly check that you have enough people working at the plant. As well as educated people you will need all three wealth groups working there. Regarding the radiation: never had a plant explode so not sure how to get rid of it. Have you tried trees (to get rid of ground pollution) or hazmat from the firestation?
  8. Cheetah speed is the only official disabled feature. The regions problems are down to bugs and not disabled features.
  9. Was your water supply maxed as this can cause a meltdown as well.
  10. Sales for Sim City 5

Take the number of in-store sales (prediction only) and preorders via origin and other vendors (will have been known to EA/Maxis well beforehand) and you get a decent amount. As Camlon said: it was the load on the servers, which should have been more thoroughly tested in the beta, that caused the issues. It was more of an incompetence by the system admins when they predicted the load on the servers, not the actual numbers of games sold.
  11. Sorry but electricity does not go at the speed of light. Only photons can go at the speed of light. In real life you also do not get electricity instantly accross a whole city. This simply would not work. Regarding the initial problem: have you had a look at the water and leccy overlay to see where or what is stopping it? also are you importing utilities from another city to give you 0 overhead?
  12. I read that the high end casinos are still bugged and won't even break even let alone make a profit. This could just be that no one has found the secret to making them work or attract enough high wealth rollers to gamble away their monies.
