SC4 Win/Mac Help

Hey, I am thinking about getting a mac pro but I only have SC4 Deluxe  for windows. Also, many of the mods I use are Windows only.  I don't want to pay $50 bucks ( i'm getting Minecraft) so is there any way I can use an emulator or something like that to play my copy on mac and use my mods on a mac pro

Yes, this can be done using Wine. Basically, it's compatibility layer that allows most Windows applications to run on a Mac, including SimCity 4 Deluxe.

 

I don't have first hand experience of using Wine, but have heard good things about it. A tutorial on how to configure it on a Mac can be found here.

Also, since it's quite complex, I recommend first taking a read through the documentation at WineHQ.

Wine works, but you may want the full Windows Experience so using Bootcamp or VirtualBox (or Fusion/Parallels) might make more sense.

I use VMWare Fusion to play old PC games(like Roller Coaster tycoon) but I havent tried SC4 on it since i have the Mac version. Honestly for the full experience Id recommend running bootcamp.
