Welcome to Cloudscape, the region which spans regions!

Cloudscape is a region, which is composed of smaller regions called "sectors".

A list of sectors and their cities are in the index in the next post below.

The pictures and actual CJ bit is below that. :)

Also, sorry about having to play on low graphics.  My computer is not powerful enough to play on medium lighting, and i'll have to wait until July to get another, more powerful one.

Please leave feedback, good or bad. I always enjoy a good criticism/debate :)

    Glossary

Knights of Simcraftia - Legendary band of traveling knights who eventually founded Cloudscape.

"thee dragon from thy sky" - A mythical (or is it?) dragon reported to have attacked trading villages in the Farlands in the time of the Knights of Simcraftia.

The Unknown - Remains of a civilization that battled to death in 914. Called Simearth "earth". A remaining few cities of this civilization have been found near the Farlands but no contact has been made, apart from flares coming from their capital on Cloudscapian holidays.

Simearth - The Earth of Cloudscape and SimCity.

Cloudscape - The region made up of countless other regions (called sectors) and what this CJ is about.

LOL SECTOR-  -- A sector that nobody really knows about and nobody really cares about.

    _________________________________________________________________________________________________________

    Other stuff

It's almost impossible to take waterside screenshots which are plagued by bugged waves and some land screenshots which are infested with pixelated lighting and windows due to graphical bugs. Unfortunately, EA and Maxis do not seem to care about this, and therefore it seems like until I get a computer in July/August/September then I will have to stick with this.

    WE WANT YOU

Want to take part in the CJ? Want to make a neighboring city? Or just want to have a look around the cities? Then no problem!

My origin ID is zareefali and the sectors are all mine; they are on Antarctica, EUW2 and the Test server. Please PM if you would like to build in my regions and have your city featured.

    Greenforests sector: Slowville

    Population now: around 120,000

You can view the album here: https://imgur.com/a/ATDqm

We'll start our journey in the Greenforests sector, in the city of Slowville. We'll be looking at how it's progressed through the ages.

In ye olde days, around 30 years ago in 2010, Slowville was just a village in what seemed like a useless sector.

    hVbwBqph.jpg

With just a small population of 5,145, people in the capital of Cloudscape, Cloudtopia, people thought Greenforests was a idiotic sector that should not be invested in.

However, in 2012, that all changed.

A UFO appeared from some sort of hyperspace portal.....it flew over the city and zapped up two kids from the local park before dropping them at the police station. They were seriously injured but were transported to Cloudtopia for advanced medical treatment and survived.

    8JdUzM5h.png

Tourists from all over Cloudscape and surrounding regions flooded into the city. This was the first place in Simearth to experience a alien attack!! Soon, the tourists liked the humble little town so much that they moved into some tenements, bringing jobs, their culture and children with them.

    EnPpsCNh.jpg

In 2014, Slowville experienced a population boom. People were moving into the town like crazy! More tenements were erected, and more services were built to stop angry protesters from invading the Town Hall. However, a few still remain there today, furious about non-existing "high rent".

    hNR4Z3Jh.jpg

It's 2019 now, and Slowville has seen some skyscrapers pop up. What started as a office for a local business gone big went viral and skyscrapers started popping all over the place! A beautiful university was built too, and the high tech industry started booming as taxes were reduced to 1%!

    1tMJl3nh.jpg

The skyline from the mayor's house in 2020:

    GMxUzBLh.jpg

The area surrounding the mayor's house is still quiet, escaping the growing traffic jams downtown.

It's 2021 and skyscrapers are still popping up. The population is now 84,678. Here's the view from the very edge of downtown.

    ByVyxQYh.jpg

ENOUGH OF THE OLDEN DAYS!!!! Let's skip to how the city is now, with 120,000 citizens and rising! Now even the mayor's house is surrounded by mid-rise flats of the rich and middle class!

    XGhAelih.jpg

    mNvmGuBh.jpg

The light and airy nightlife of downtown:

    dwKWOQTh.jpg

It hasn't stopped the seedy part of the city from growing though. Criminals run rampant in the older parts of city, and gunfights with police are often heard after dark.

    P0g3G41h.jpg

And of coruse here's a picture of the high-tech district. Sadly, many are moving out of Slowville due to the shortage of educated workers, meaning that the city is losing valuable revenue, but many are still moving in.

    Dxi6drPh.jpg

Well that's it for now folks! Please leave feedback and I'll be back soon! :)

    Farlands Sector: Oval

    Population: 6,500

You can view the album here: https://imgur.com/a/yxgF9

Welcome to the Farlands Sector, the forefront of discovery in Cloudscape. This region of Cloudscape has been shrouded in mystery, beginning in 1456 when the Knights of Simcraftia spotted what seemed like "thee dragon from thy sky". This vague statement doesn't help scientists and historians, but rich businessmen and middle-class workers from Greenforests sector and the capital flocked to the only town in the area, Oval not to see dragons from the sky, but to escape from the bustling and crowded city life. Explorers also love the sector, often crusing by in heavily armed convoys.

This road (dubbed Lime Street) divides the town into workers, and more affluent workers.

    22Zuadch.jpg

For some unknown reason, the sun here is much stronger than other sectors. Experts say this is because of something called an "latinus magico".

    GIC0exEh.jpg

This hasn't stopped the winter being so harsh that everything has a tint of blue though. This is a picture of Teal Avenue in midwinter.

    tDS2hbyh.jpg

Residents get a "hardship allowance" for living in such a boring place with no dragons as advertised. But the lazy summer days are perfect for a BBQ with the family or a stroll down the road.

    6tM0gYMh.jpg

The weather, however changes dramatically. Here is a picture from the Farlands Met Office, showing how a lazy summer day can turn very dark if a storm is overhead.. 20 minutes after the picture was taken, a storm flooded most of the coastline and elderly had to be evacuated from their summer homes.

    87ZZEQSh.jpg

A picture of late dusk in a road just off Teal Avenue

    zEX9SYmh.jpg

Skyline from the Town Hall, including the family favourite "Pizzario" pizzaria.

    aj3gBGrh.jpg

"YOU THERE, DID THE DRAGON CAUSE THIS?"

    9qbDmglh.jpg

"GET OFF MAH LAWN SILLY PROTESTERS"

    "They're spawncamping me!"

    dJtcp5hh.jpg

More to come soon, please leave feedback :)

Nice CJ! I really like it! Your city is highly realistic, and I love the one with the housing projects at the end of the street.

    Surburbia Sector: Lemonwaters

    Population: 41,000

You can view the album here: https://imgur.com/a/jgofY

We're getting closer to Cloudtopia now!

Welcome to Surburbia, a sector created to allievate the constant worker shortages in other cities. Unlike other sectors, this one doesn't have any skyscrapers yet, but planning applications to build them are soaring.

This is the town of Lemonwaters, where the seedy part of town IS the town! Criminals love living here; the town has struggled against crime waves and being quite close to East Cloudtopia Metro and Greenforests, the seedier element of both of those cities got tired and moved into Lemonwaters for a more relaxed career....

Here is a picture of Galactic Orbital Avenue in 2029

    yESQM38h.jpg

On the other side of the town: a slightly better part of the neighbourhood by Galactic Orbital Avenue. The police station in the photo arrests 8 criminals daily, with help of the Cloudscapian Military Police.

    S900nv2h.jpg

Urban decay affects alot of the city. However, regeneration projects like this reduce crime and attract more citizens. After all, you don't want a ugly crime dump near the capital, do you?

    ax3Lc28h.jpg

The large oil fields at the east side of the city provide most of the town's wealth - from crude oil.

    0G188RRh.jpg

There are plans to enlarge the small industrial district, currently limited in growth becuase of the fear of hazmat fires.

    MI87HFJh.jpg

The backroads of the town are filled of cheap offices, tenements and the odd basketball park.

    1KQC4VCh.jpg

Not all is gloom and doom though. A recent housing project has attracted more wealthier citizens, and large coporations are moving into the town.

    DYdm3R8h.jpg

    mwmVjnmh.jpg

The skyline from the lush meadows just beside the oil fields.

    i8e5pxqh.jpg

Not all is well in Lemonwaters, but life is improving at rates never seen before. Crime rings are being busted and the town's first mansion was completed in 2031. Wedged between Cloudtopia and Slowville, and having valuable shipping docks, offices are moving in to take advantage of what seems like a unrivalled oppurtunity.

As usual, I'll be back soonand we'll revisit the city in 2040. Also please leave feedback, good or bad, so I can improve :)

Wow!! I love all the sectors you've shown so far. :)  The way you set up your city and the camera angles at which your take your pictures make the city seem very real. :)

I'm so glad we have another excellent city journal among us! :D

Nice again! Don't worry about Hazmat fires. The best thing to do if that happens, based on my experience, is destroy and dezone the buildings around it. Then the fire can't spread.

    Suburbia Sector: Calmbreeze

    Population now: 3,400

Welcome to another town in Suburbia, Calmbreeze. Situated near the idyllic and legendary Craftia mountain ranges, this picturesque town is popular with tourists, mountain climbers and offer a relaxing break for the residents of Lemonwaters. However, the citizens aren't the most educated... I mean, yesterday a guy swam 27 miles to commute to Lemonwaters......daft isn't it? Anyway, let's see the first impression near the industrial zone in 2010:

    9sRCRo2h.jpg

A sleepy suburb on a hot summer's day. Vast desposits of raw ore have been discovered under the village, and many people are moving in to take advantage or work in the future mines, just like a gold rush.

    JKv8j6Eh.jpg

There is a GIANT lake here - Lake Craftia, named after the mountain ranges next to it. This giant lake has a diameter of 105 miles (more like a sea!) and reaches all the way to the Farlands Sector. Giant lily pads, which you will be able to spot out in the distance, are a unique kind and are being studied by biologists at Lemonwaters University.

    NtWJ7osh.jpg

Shopping here is excellent, with many fast food chains, the legendary Craftia Spanner Store and for the romantic, a lakeside diner......

    3V6ls7Eh.jpg

    CyPCttzh.jpg

For the less adventurous type: A relaxing drive down Central Road, with some pleasant shopping trips are popular.

    HKDosIth.jpg

The climate is usually a sweltering 34c. However, giant thunderstorms, small waterspouts and even snowstorms happen in mid-summer due to cold air rushing down the mountains and clashing with the hot, swampy air. Here we can see the chilly looking landscape, frost-hardened grass and ice sheets on the swampy lake..... brrrrrr!

    aDUwtYch.jpg

The quiet evenings have developed a culture here. A cup of tea with the elderly next door, BBQs and a calming picnic up the slopes of Craftia Mountain Range is common.

    ZrFxPxgh.jpg

    PxbVA51h.jpg

Well ladies and gentlemen, a small update today for a small town so that is all for now. I'll be back soon(or will I?) and as usual please post feedback. Next entry we'll be back at Lemonwaters and see how it's been doing. :D

Before we return to Lemonwaters, let's show a nice town in East Suburbia...

    East Suburbia Sector: Lime Quays
    Population now: 40,000 then 32,000

Hello ladies and gentlemen, it's 2020 so welcome to the continuation of the tour around Suburbia. We're on the East sector now, and let's explore the nice and sleepy town of Lime Quays. It's early morning, so expect it to be cold!

The industrial sector is growing rapidly at 125.6% a year.

The skyline fills of jet black smoke.

Author's note: You might be thinking if I triggered the disaster or it randomly happened. Well, it was random, completely out of the blue!
    gaJE9ddh.jpg

The beautiful city burns to the ground..

    AiQJD9zh.jpg

Emergency services get overwhelmed and on the highway, the neighbouring city's fire trucks have got stuck in a traffic jam of buggy criminals....

Wails of sirens continue into dawn, and unchecked fires rage through the central residental district. Fire trucks are stuck in traffic jams of unconcerned commuters, and th city's first traffic problem have arised, with long queues on Central Avenues.

    C79YRq8h.jpg

Community cleaners come on full force in the aftermath. Piles of rubble sit on the streets, and by the time the neighbouring firetrucks got through the traffic jam of bugged criminals, the had buildings already burnt down..

    eDt99kmh.jpg

Half of the city was destroyed and 8,000 sims perished.

    Wbpu8I8h.jpg

    zwHFDdGh.jpg

It might be impossible to get back to what the city used to be. But hope is on the horizon. It always has and always will be.

    hiY4xvFh.jpg

Author's note 7/4/13: Two sim days after the disaster the first skyscraper began contruction. The city is now a nice mix of office towers, high-rise flats and mid-rise buildings. The city now has 70,000 residents and can't cope with the traffic and arising crime issues. A tornado hit the oil fields and almost destroyed the oil refinery and Petroluem HQ, and now 40 criminals live in the city, probably because of the traffic jam of buggy criminals (yes it was true). The city has the most police cars in Suburbia, with 24 police cars, hazmat fire trucks and a university. They're all useless however, because they can't get anywhere because of the horrendous gridlock, one of the worst in Cloudscape!

I'll be back soon, and this time around, if you want to go back and revisit another city/sector, then just ask in the comments, any questions, just ask and as always please leave feedback. :)

@Panos:  Thank you! I am going to think about focusing on the story in my future updates, which are little late but will be coming soon

@simfanheatermayor: Thanks again! The disaster was totally random,  I had no idea that it was going to happen..

And if you would like to know when "soon" is, I leave you only this...

The only thing I'm going to say is that it's not going to be in two months and will be less than that, but maybe not his week. But could it be today? Tomorrow? Nobody knows but me :D

    Dear sir/madam/whoever will read this!

    This profile is now defunct.

Computer problems and issues with accessing my Imageshack account meant My SC4 CJ Scrapbook was lost and utterly irretrievable. This setback put me off SC4 for many months.

Apologies for the inconvenience and for the lost pictures.

But that SC4 itch did not go away and it had to be scratched! I have started afresh with a new account here- The British Sausage

The URS is a spiritual successor to the SC4 CJ Scrapbook.

With this update this will be the last time I visit my original Simtropolis account- admin/mods feel free to remove it or do whatever you need to do. I have no further use for the Ln X (BLANKBLANK) account.

With regards, Miles Saunders-Priem aka. Ln X aka. The British Sausage

@ Ln X Thanks!   Getting the shots was incredibly lucky as I had to be there at the right time, and as I take my pictures in low (medium and above crash my game) lighting I move at 1fps, so it's even more harder.

     East Suburbia Sector: Cylon

    Population: 15,178

Welcome back to Suburbia, it's December 21st 2021 and today we'll be visiting the town of Cylon!

I know the first thought in your head..

    szvyjb6.png?1?5484

No, it's not a Battlestar Galactica Cylon! Apparently the 4 year olds at Cloudtopia's naming department thought of it, and it lost by 50 votes to Settler's Rise but they used it anyway.

The quiet town is a hub for tourism, being situated at the end on the Craftia Mountain Range means trekkers and hikers start their journey at the town. People come from all over Suburbia to see to relax, enjoy the beautiful sunsets and take a break from the harsh reality, though most of them come from Lemonwaters which is almost barely visible from the edge of the city. The town has a boring line-like road pattern, but a new section of the city built by a suburban developer adds some "diagonals" to the city.

But that's reasonable as the Department of Transportation, Highways and Railways is not to be trusted to build roads, because of the idiots in charge of it:

Anyway, we've arrived in Cylon just in time for the sunset!

    kjWcTOph.jpg

The town is populated but fairly dense, even if it is low rise. As a result, most of the town area is still fields. In this picture, you can see the National Bridge (built in 1876 to celebrate the ending of the Great War), and it looks like the family favourite "Pizzario" from Oval has opened a shop here.

    zr8o2Hrh.jpg

Most of the town spends the evening quietly at the local BBQ pavilion. Some get out deckchairs and soak up the sunshine, while others strive to be in Cylon's football team. Even in winter, temparatures stay at about 17C, and in summer reaches 25C. Because of this, many children here have never seen snow, or don't know what it is.

    W5XkzSvh.jpg

Down the CSH25 (Cloudscape Highway 25).

The skyline from the edge of the city:

    mUTKlsj.jpg

Ever since the disaster in Lime Quays, businesses have had to relocate. Alot of these have opened shops in LOL SECTOR the town. As a result, the town is a boon for passing commuters and shoppers. Even staff in the industrial district sneak off in their lunch break to help themselves to a delicous seafood pizza in Pizzario.

Woah!!!! Have you looked at the time? It's sunset but it's the winter solstice, so sunset is at midnight! You better get to sleep!

Hope you had a good sleep! The motel wasn't the....best... quality, but it'll do!

Cool! Look at that sunrise! Where's my camera?

    RdoXg67h.jpg

Well, this town looks good, but we better get going! Bye everyone!

Hope you enjoyed that! The camera angles look very dodgy and different to me, so I think my ingame camera has bugged out. Next post, we'll be revisiting Lemonwaters (I promise MUCH more story and pictures this time if I have enough time.). And also, the next two entries we'll have a QA, so if you have any questions/requests/feedback just ask/tell me! If you're a guest and have a question, make an account and ask! The folks here at Simtropolis are mostly mature and very friendly!

And that's it from galactic :)

    Replies:

Hamish: I thought it would be rude not to reply to you until my next entry, so I might as well do it now ;). Thanks for the praise, unforunately I do not know how to turn off the gird. Apparently there's a glitch for mid-spec computers who try to go above low lighting get stuck with the grid, so I'm hoping I get a better comouter soon, with hopefully more beautiful pictures

I'll start off with the first part of the story here:

    Suburbia Sector: Lemonwaters

    Population: 115,000

At the police station in Lemonwaters in 2040..

Lieutenant: He's a dangerous man, he's disturbing the order of Suburbia! What if he starts in Cloudtopia What if he overthrows the government?

Police Chief: With all due respect Lieutenant, he's just one man. You overestimate his abilites.

Lieutenant: But the Cloudscapian military intelligence says otherwise!

Police Chief: Look Lieutenant, we can deal with him. We have 23 police cars, 120 police officers and 30 spies. He can't hide for long!

    *suddenly gunshots can be heard*

Police Officer: FREEZE IN THERE NOW!

    *more gunshots*

    Police Chief: OFFICER, WHAT'S HAPPENING?

    Police Officer: IT'S A TERRORIST ATTACK! IT'S ALIENS! IT'S CYLONS! IT'S IT'S...

Lieutenant: I have a gun, you sound the alarms and we'll deal with whatever did this!!

    Police Chief: Yes sir!

    Police Officer: AHHHHHHH!!!!

    *explosion*

galactic's note: Sorry for the late entry, but exam time has taken it's toll on me and it looks like all entries will be delayed by at least two days until July (summer break) Also, about 20 photos are missing. I think my ingame camera is bugging out bigtime!

    Suburbia Sector: Lemonwaters

    Population: 111,444

    Year: 2040

Hmm....I don't think we should be here...there's just been a terrorist attack; a police officer, 45 Cloudscapians and 6 foreigners.....they were all shot dead by a cruel, merciless terrorist. Well, at least the Cloudscapian Army is here, so we'll be OK.....if we're careful

Wait, did I forget to introduce the city??!!!? I'll take that as a yes, so..

Welcome to Lemonwaters! This large, crime-ridden, slum-filled city which represented the worst of Cloudscape has turned into a no-go zone for criminals and into a hub for terrorists.

The rapid population growth and tax revenues flooding in from it has blown the socks off the Cloudscape Population Control Department and the Department of Finance! (yes, the workers were so shocked by the dramatic turn-around that they're socks did blow off!)

Here's the scene from Green Plaza in the one and only LOL SECTOR  CBD. The city has seen a "space race", though we're talking about skyscrapers here. Pizzario has set up it's regional HQ here and many global brands from neighbouring countries have set up their HQ for operations outside of Cloudtopia.

    OQP9Ylsh.jpg

The view from Galactic Orbital Avenue has certainly changed from a collection of slums down a avenue into the main road, though shopping has mostly moved into the CBD. A streetcar system helps traffic and is one of the most up-to-date systems in Cloudscape. Driving around the city is as easy as finding water-proof sponges,  (I mean, most shops have it in stock, right? I smell more taxes for the sponge industry..) thanks to city planners at Suburbia University. There is no gridlock here, and they say if you ever see gridlock in Lemonwaters and the sea is lemon-coloured, you'll win $500,000,000! And man, there's so much police around here...

    7yLHDrdh.jpg

Carefully planned out development has meant that the area isn't packed to the brim with skyscrapers, rather, a mix of mid-rise, skyscrapers, the odd shack and a large airy space.

    n3KRMaZh.jpg

Skyscrapers are still being built in the outskirts of the CBD, as coporations rush to develop before there's no space left.

    hGocvPch.jpg

The city's most dull tenements look brilliant at sunrise. The city hall can also be seen here.

    9SljSIKh.jpg

If you remember the police station on the edges of the city, then have a look at it now! The struggle against crime has payed off, and extra jail cells mean faster rehabilation times. Also visible are various skyscrapers, just hidden behind the wall of towers is the high-wealth district, where company CEOs live.

    zcVWOzBh.jpg

The seedy part of town has been transformed thanks to the ending of the social, educational and economic crises...though I suppose cheap offices have lasted the 20 years since we lasted visited here..and the police! these coppers are annoying me; they're practically everywhere!

    DMOqpC9h.jpg

Down the winding avenues is a world where mid-rise meets high-rise..

    nQQVOXkh.jpg

The industry in the city has been regenerated into a high-tech district, bringing cold, hard cash to Cloudscape's coffers and attracting only the best the best talent in Suburbia and surrounding sectors.

    HeOHuLrh.jpg

The skyline from the lush meadows. The oil fields next to it have been abandoned for seven years, partly because of fears of the oil running out and also because the heavy ground pollution were ruining the meadows.

    wkobacWh.jpg

A view of the airy and modern CBD. The district is well connected to the rest of the city by streetscars and buses, and ferries also serve as a way for workers to commute here.

    MZkVMqlh.jpg

    Looking the other way:

    aWu0RhCh.jpg

Calling all number crunchers! Having stolen borrowed some data from the city hall, here's some eye-candy to look at. This map shows the land value here.

    KYSGAGJh.jpg

A detailed document about the population and growth here. I didn't have to look through much to find this  The guy who gave me the papers only had to walk to the PR department to get this!

    466Nnemh.jpg

    B1ew4QGh.jpg

Most, if not all of the city's germs only infect the high-tech district, though they don't really care.

    VRuLOTMh.png

The people here are really happy!

    hP4RZbth.png

Well folks, that's it for now!

This entry was for people who like to read alot and look at eye-candy.

I am spiralling down into a void of exams, hence why this entry was late. I'll only truly be free in late July, when I can make entries MUCH MORE frequently because then I'll have all the time in the world to do it. However, I'm currently on 1 hour/day so it's very diffucult to balance SimCity with other things, such as studying, rehearsing and all that other horrible stuff...

This will be the last entry from Suburbia for now as I begin contruction on East Cloudtopia. Goodbye, and I hope I'll see you soon! (hopefully not in July!)

I always like some feedback good or bad, if you want to post some feedback but you're uncertain, don't worry ;) I don't bite!

Interesting images and data shots. I like the view of the street cars, as well as the closeup of the tracks. Is the grid on in some of the shots? Is there a way to turn that off prior to taking screenshots as it would improve the images.

Thanks! The grid was on in the screenshots, I don't know if there's a way to turn it off. There's a bug with computers like mine, so if I try to go above minimum lighting a grid appears. But thanks for telling me, I'll try and find a way to turn it off. :)

galactic's note: This is just a filler while I develop East Cloudtopia Metro. As for the grid issue, it appears to be a bug with my graphics card and since I'm no computer apotheon I don't know how to fix it :( This entry follows the story of a eager graduate buying a new home around 40-50 years before most of the entries in the journal and his journey along the way :)

    East Cloudtopia Sector: Rangia District

    Population: 33,110

    Year: 1976

Hello people, my name is Jack, and I just bought a apartment in Rangia! They say I'm "medium-wealth", but in my humble opinion I don't know what that's supposed to mean. There's underfloor heating, comfortable pre-furnished rooms and great views! Here's a picture I took of it:

    xhYAwWAh.jpg

Nice humble home for a humble person :) . The industrial district is literally blowing up with growth, so, as a keen photographer I snapped a image of it.

    aNSquPOh.jpg

I went shopping earlier and I was amazed by the amount of shops there were! I bought lots of furniture and gadgets, though the constrast between the wealthy and slightly poorer parts of the city is noticeable.

    kIbUXC6h.jpg

As I slowly wandered through the city, I eventually reached the border with a city they're planning to build, so I couldn't go any further.

    obJuoyth.jpg

My favourite place to eat is Taqueria. You can eat everything: from tacos to pizzas and coke ice cream to ghost chilli fizzy drinks!

    hFnrBZUh.jpg

The city is mostly mid-rise, with only three high-rise buildings. This road in particular is mixed with low-rise and mid-rise

    jMc9Rv6h.jpg

This forest is one of the most quiet areas on Rangia. On drowsy summer evenings I sit in the nearby park and wonder away....what is the meaning of life? Do we live to work or work to live?

    8q7Y0rbh.jpg

I recently bought a car and went for a drive; here's picture I took on the way. The skyline looks qute good on this one!

    O0GBVVrh.jpg

    Down Craftia Avenue

    SKhaFT3h.jpg

Further up the avenue you have a clearer picture of the city.

    w4eWLoXh.jpg

The skyscraper district is uglier at street-level than it looks....it's just bland old glass...

    3DdEo75h.jpg

    AhIdGjDh.jpg

This is the road near the location of my job interview tomorrow. Wish me luck!

    67R7qbBh.jpg

Dead-end avenues are a common sight here..though I did only move in two weeks ago, so I probably didn't have a good look around.

    dB6Ssach.jpg

The roads here have very shrap dips and rises. I suppose it keeps out the speeding motorists though!

    f0Sjz6Th.jpg

Night here is better than it looks, however, I do hear sporadic gunfire which makes me a bit petrified nervous..

    pZQEpSdh.jpg

The IS23 (intersector 23) curves right through the heart of town, and it brings traffic nightmares everywhere. No wonder nobody really wants to live there!

    3DMQdw4h.jpg

Woah!!!??!! Did you just hear! We've been merged with the capital Cloudtopia, and who knows what could happen? Success or failure? I'll leave that to you to decide .

Filler-in over folks! This is set forty years before the entries I'm going to post later, so of coruse it's going to me small :) . I'm working very hard on East Cloudtopia Sector, but studying and exams are taking its toll. I'll be back soon, and as per usual please leave feedback; I don't bite! Now let's go before they find out I've been sneaking on!

Cloudscape has it's own YouTube channel!

Well...it's my gaming channel..but who cares? I'll be uploading short videos of my cities on this channel; I'm using the rubbish ingame video recorder so they are extremely short. I'll try and use Hypercam 3 next time.

Watch in 360p or HD if you can.

    Lemonwaters tour-

Ingame video recorder test in Rangia District -

More coming soon, I'm still working on East Cloudtopia.

Though it would be nice if someone joined the region..

    Delays

Benedict: Yes, it is much easier now. I hope to release some if I have the the time, maybe with some commentary :)

Sorry guys, I'm extremely busy at the moment and it doesn't look like it'll be stopping anytime before August/July. However, during the free time I do have I'm forced to do revising and all that horrible things, so I'll try getting an update out soon™.

EDIT: The pollutin bug has effectively destroyed East Cloudtopia. I'm going to have to start again and I'm getting busier and busier..how I hate the end of the school year!

    Cloudscape is on hold

I'm sorry guys, but a combination of exams, random, inconvenient and irritating stuff, annoying people and game-breaking bugs means I will not have time to continue my CJ indefinitely :lost: . I will, however,  try and do some building when the bugs are fixed and the exams are over, though it's looking like a long time until these are done. :(

I might put out some short updates out occasional and might post some video updates on my YouTibe channel, so don't give up. :)

And no, don't worry - I have no plans to cancel this CJ :)

    Region Name:

    East Cloudtopia Metro

    Server:

    Europe West 2

Please note I am not looking for ZOMG SKYSCRAPER FORETSSSZZZZZ or a bunch of LOL SECTORS, so please be sensible while building. ;)

    Ladies and gentlemen,

I am very happy to say Cloudscape is no longer on hold. I will be be back making cities soon, since my exams are finally over. However, random people are causing very inconvenient trouble for me which I shouldn't really be involved in, so it will take longer to create more cities.

On a sad note, I am very sad to announce my open public region for East Cloudtopia has been trolled and filled with a bunch of LOL SECTORS. Countless hours of time have been lost only for some troll to make some criminal city full to the brim of monotonous boring skyscrapers and grid patterns. Many of my other cities have also been trolled too, so I am sad to also announce my regions will no longer be public. If you would like to still join, just a drop a reply and I'll invite you :)
