Black screen when dragging roads

So after 2 days I was finally able to claim a city and I gotta say, I love this game.  It's a little laggy, but I'm hoping they will finally fix the servers.  But I did notice one major bug.  When I drag a road, the screen goes dark.  I can see the path of the road that I am dragging after I have dragged it, but I can't see where I'm dragging it or anything else on the screen.  It's hard to explain, but anyone else encounter something like this?

I had some issues where the road guide grid wasnt working right.  I also was unable to see the road when I was dragging; it just showed up as dirt.  I ended up downloading a driver cleaner, uninstalled my current video drivers, ran the driver cleaner on the video drivers, and then reinstalled the drivers. 

 

Everything worked after that.

Restarted and everything's all good.  Great game!  A lot of planning to do to keep the sims happy.  Very fun to play.
