Troll Alert in Simcity Regions

If you think that is the only way of people reclaiming a city in a region, guess again.

 

Earlier I decided to give the multiplayer bit a chance and see if I could find myself a region with a city in it I could claim. Not only is the region list for joining like looking for that one particular tree in a forest the size of Europe, it's also not up to date. 

 

But ok, we got by that, but then came the real surprise. I finally managed to find a city (YES!!), which was abandoned, so I try reclaiming it and what do you think I get? A message that I cannot (re)claim this city because I don't own the proper version/content of the game in order to do so. Uhm, wait a minute? Am I being punished for not having forked out the ridiculous amount of €80 (that is $102 for the Americans), just because someone plopped a building that came with the deluxe edition and abandoned ship?

 

Talk about a way of de-railing a region..
