Gifting money not working?

I'm trying to gift money to a bankrupt city. I watch the little armored car leave the bankrupt city and go to the gifting city, and then make it's way back, but the money never shows up. It's taken out of the gifting city's coffers, but never shows up on the bankrupt city.

Every building but city hall is off in the bankrupt city, and speed controls are disabled until I get some cash, so this city is stuck until I get money in it. Thoughts? Is it not working at all, or am I missing something vital.

Hmm not sure. It should of worked. Did you try exit region and reload it ?

I'm wondering how well the regional stuff is working in general. I think there was a thread somewhere about regional issues.

 

I know I tried gifting as well and the only thing I succeed in doing was making a 2nd city be almost broke.  

 

I had thought they sent it by pony express, but after about 10 hours of game time on the fast speed, the money is still vaporware.

Just wanted to weigh in and say I'm having this issue as well.  Gifting between regions does not seem to work.

Had exactly the same issue. Quite annoying. And when I stopped the game, I had to totally restart it and couldn't join the server anymore where the game was on so.

Yeah same issue here. I also spent the 1 mil simoleons to start a great work and that money appears to have vanished as well. Although the great work at least says pending so maybe its not completely gone

After reading this thread, I decided to load my 1st city (where the $ came from).  It brought up some bubbles about the other city mayor visiting and gifting and such.  I waited not more than 2-3 minutes, went back to the city I wanted the cash for, waited a minute or so and the $ turned up.

A day later, the gifted money finally came through to my city.  Yay!

Glad the money went through. I had a gift get refunded to the original city. Region play in general is totally messed up on North America West 2... is it that broken for everyone?

Yes, region play is borked everywhere. It's caused by the huge amount of server load.

 

Gifts will come through eventually. Sometimes it takes a 10-20 hours IRL for it to happen.

 

My advice:

Don't rely on region play at all for the next week or so. Don't try to trade water, power, sewage, recycling, garbage, cops, ambulances, gifts, anything etc, until the servers start working better.

I had no problem sending money but it could definitely be a connection issue. I did notice when I viewed a local city it was not up to date in real time so.. I would expect delays. I had a money glitch where I completed a mission for 50k and it didn't show up, instead I lost 6k randomly, very odd.

As far as your debt problems go can't you raise taxes or take out a bond or turn off services?
