Stuck at checking for updates

I've had (and still do) the problem when you start the simcity launcher, that i'm stuck at the checking for updates message.

 

I can't select a server, and i can't launch the game.

Now i've read on the EA forums that the solution to this is deleting the contents of: "C:/program files/Origin games/simcity/simcityuserdata".

 

So i tried this, and after redownloading some files i was able to get back in the main menu and i was actualy able to play the game. After about an hour i was disconected from the server again, do i quit the game and tried to restart it.

 

Now i'm stuck again at "checking for updates".

So it looks like deleting the above mentioned folder content is atleast a partial solution.

 

Edit: I deleted the folder contents again, and it looked like it worked again, however now Maxis has closed logins (while they investigate reports of system performance), so i'me unable to start the game.

 

This problem is solved, i no longer the above problem.
