Zoneable Parks

I really wish there was zoneable parks. Often, with a non-grid design there tends to be a lot of dead space that isn't large enough or the right dimensions for a park to be placed in. My question, well we can zone RCI, why not parks? I've never seen a perfectly rectangle park in my life, why are perfetly rectangle parks the only option in Sim City 5?

Anyone else agree?

Why did they change the parks since beta 2?!?  In beta you could stack parks on each other, that is now gone.  That feature was helpful....grrr.

There is the option to plant trees.  It's on the far right in nature, have to use arrow.

But does planting trees give a large radius bonus to land value? And even if it does ... I wouldn't call a few planted random trees a 'park'. I think it would be really cool to have amorphous shaped, randomly sized parks be able to generate things like playground structures, small sports fields and things like that inside the encompassed space.

Yea that's right, no land value...I wish they had singular tile land value effects and/or ability to plop anywhere.  The Cities XL approach would have been nice for filler as those provide "environment" in that game.

Do the trees do anything about pollution?

One of the things I was really hoping for was zonable offices as opposed to office/shops because they are so different in needs. Zonable parks would have been cool too although I think simcity games have always had enough options to make cool parks yourself.

It does nothing for ground pollution, but it helps with air pollution.

Zoneable parks is another thing CitiesXL got right and Simcity got wrong.

That filler system was genius. I liked it a lot, gave the city a uniform color to kinda hide the wonky 3d placement problems. Though it sometimes messed up as well creating problems. I remember several of my streets being covered in a green carpet of grass.
