I was wondering if anyone knew of a graphics card that would be able to run simcity on High that is no more then 100 dollars? I really want to play the game with great graphics but my card is pretty old. Everything else on my computer is fine, its my graphic card.

maybe a 560ti? prolly somewhere around $100 - $150.

tho be careful, that gpu could put a bootleneck from the lower grade cpu.

Game runs flawlessly on my i5 2500k @ 4.2ghz, 16gig mem, 570 phantom for reference.

Ran it with GTX460 at max everything with no frame drops. That GPU goes for less than $100 on ebay. It's amazing how long this card has lasted me. Games really are not pushing it these days...6670 should be OK too, maybe not ultra everything.

It will play fine with mid-high graphics settings. Keep in mind shadows and AA will drag the frame rate down in larger cities.

Just an FYI - I have this exact card, and during the beta, I had several issues with certain graphics displaying. I was unable to see city boundaries, road guides, data layers flowing (electric, water, sewage), could not visually see any disasters, etc...

This was a reported bug by many ATI card users, so hopefully this gets fixed before the launch.

I have also tried the beta on an AMD APU along with a 6650M without issues. Have you updated your display drivers?

Yeah, the frustrating part is I just got the card 2 weeks ago. Updated the drivers when I first installed it. When I tried to update the driver after playing one session of the beta, it said I have the most current version.

I believe all my specs should be more than enough to run the game properly.

Window 7 -64 bit

i5 processor

8.0 gb ram

Radeon HD 6670 - 2gb ddr3

What's more important is the speed of your CPU. You can have the most powerful graphics card possible, but it's meaningless in most circumstances for SimCity 4 since the game which game out in 2003 doesn't utilize the full power of a non-integrated GPU. Get an average graphics card and a CPU that can be clocked to >4GHz for smooth playing :)
