Maxis Extra cheats dll Win 7 SP1 issues

I seem to cannot get any of the extra cheats to work in the game that are provided in the Maxis Extra Cheats DLL! this issue arose after Windows 7 updated to SP1 last year, is this working on Windows 7 SP1??? or am I the only one it is not working for since the upgrade

No idea? Could be anything, you say? More information needed? Well, same here: What does "not work" even mean? Does the cheat window not pop up, does it crash, does nothing happen after you selected a cheat?

 

I'm using WIndows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-bit on my notebook, and the Extra Cheats DLL works like a charm, so it can't be a general problem with Win7.

 

Maybe you guys can tell us how you installed the Extra Cheats DLL, where you put it, what keys you press or things you enter, and what happens when you do. Then it should be possible to help you.

I used the installer from the website, worked like a charm on Vista and Win7 (not SP1) as soon as the SP1 update they DO NOT work!!! what happens is that typing the cheats into the cheat bar act like they aren't recognizable cheats... typing lotplop nothing happens it just sits there like I typped in a nonexisting cheat!!!

Sometimes the Extra Cheats don't work. This happens at random game sessions for no apparent reason. To check if your ExtraCheats.DLL is working, open the cheat screen and right-click on it. If a drop down list appears, then the Extra Cheats work. If not, restart the game and try again.

 

If that still doesn't work, check where you installed the ExtraCheats.dll. It should be in the root plugins folder.

 

If even that still doesn't work, I have no idea what's going on then...

And failing all that, with the dll in the right place, cold boot your system.  I sometimes wonder of laptops ever get rebooted because they normally suspend if you close the cover.
