Two beginner questions for a helpful person:

1st: I have been searching around and can't seem to find the mod people use to change all the zone sizes within a region. I am trying to make them all large.

2nd: Is their a tree mod that you can use in god mod which lets you select different types of trees which would be found in completely different climates zones. For example I want to make a map that has pine trees in the higher elevations, oaks/maples etc in the middle and lower ranges, and then palms and tropical trees along the coast and in islands.

If anyone can help me out that would be great! You will save me some time because I am very slow at going through all these different mods to find the right ones. Thanks!!

    1. Do you mean make the region consist of only large city tiles? In order to do that, you have to go in and edit the config image in the region's folder (My Documents/SimCity 4/Regions/name). Specifically, you'd want to make a new one. Go into a program like MS Paint and create an image that is A pixels x B pixels. A and B are the width and height of your region in small city tiles. Make the image entirely pure blue (in the red/green/blue amount section, make sure blue is set all the way up to 255). Save this as a Bitmap image and replace the old one in the region folder (make sure to rename it config). Keep in mind that this will delete any cities in the region.

    2. Most tree controller mods will plant different trees at different heights automatically. Check out the list of terrain related plugins.

Of course, Indiana Jones' method will work fine. Another approach would be to use SC4 Mapper 2013, which has an easy way to change the bitmap file while you see the actual region. You load the region you want to change, click on "Edit config.bmp and then choose city sizes and click on the map where you want to have them. It will then save this as a new region.

If you change an existing config.bmp, it will cause the region to be erased. You will have to re-render or make a new region using the other elements of the base files for the region.
