Crossroads problem

I've installed SC4 after being away from the game for a couple of years and downloaded a huge load of plugins, two of them being the NAM and SAM mods. Having built a city I now have No road acces signs over all the residentials. Using the drawpaths command I find every crossroads and each connection to a roundabout have red crosses on them.

I figure it's something of a conflicting mods problem. Rather than removing and re-installing every single plugin, I hope you can tell me this is a known problem. Is it?

Hard to say when your plugins folder is jam-packed with stuff we don't know.

If I were you, I'd

(1) rename the current plugins folder to something else (e.g. "plugins_OLD"),

(2) make a new, empty plugins folder

(3) install only the NAM into this new plugins folder and check it briefly to see if it works.

Then, you can start adding further components like the SAM, and check again if everything works. I like to use the "Rush Hour Tutorial" city in the "Timbuktu" region for this purpose because it is already started and gives you millions of Simoleons to start with. Just draw some roads, lay out some zones, and see if everything works. No need to save anything.

As soon as you have a working NAM, you can start moving your other stuff over to the new plugins folder. I recommend moving any traffic-related mods first, and move them one by one. After each new mod, you can repeat a brief check to see whether anything has stopped working or has started to act wonky.

As soon as you got the critical stuff set up and running, you can move over the RCI buildings, landmarks, parks, civic buildings, terrain-related stuff (terrain mods, trees, mayor-mode ploppables, rock and water mods etc.) over in one big lump since these mods shouldn't have any influence on your transportation network.

The NAM is a complex, highly modular and very influential mod, that's why it's so important to read its documentation thoroughly and install & test it carefully. It just features a higher "screw up potential" than your average eye-candy park lot.

Aw, shoot. I was hoping it was a well-known problem. I'll try your method, T Wrecks. Thanks for answering.

Can you provide a picture? I'm not getting a lot of info out of that.

I will provide a picture when I get home tonight. Until then, imagine there being a red cross on each corner of a crossroads. :D

Stop points. They're supposed to be there.

Hm. If the red crosses aren't a problem, that leaves T Wrecks' solution.

Thanks for your replies. I'll let you know the outcome.

Problem solved. I used T Wrecks' method and located a sidewalk mod that was the culprit.
