So, i have some high tech buildings with 30/80 listed under jobs, that's a big deal i'm losing more than half of my jobs to undesirability... but all of the desirability factors are listed as max? so... must be environment..

When i throw down 6 flower gardens around this building it suddenly jumps to 48/51 instead of 35/51 wow, i learned something new. thought i'd share, not that it's probably news to anyone else :)

Thanks for posting. Not much news to me, though.

You have to treat high-tech industrial areas the same way you treat high-wealth residential areas. Water, power, zero garbage, low crime, low pollution, fire protection and recreation (minus the health and education). When it doubt, throw down some small parks or flower gardens and sims will want to be there. High-wealth commerce works the same way. Except they like plazas.

Environment is part of the desirability factors.

Don't forget your education level too. High-tech will required a high educated sims.

This is the "park effect". It permanently boosts desirability around the plopped parks (and flower gardens count as parks). Different parks have stronger or lesser park effects, and greater or lesser radii. They also affect commercial and residential differently.

And if you have problems with Dirty showing up when you don't want it and reducing value, try the new Industrial Revolution Mod, that lets you split dirty/high tech better when zoning!

Thanks for sharing. Another suggestion, take your route query tool and see if any Sims are actually communting to you facilities. If all the route query tool shows is freight, then no sims are actually working in your industry facilities. If you find out nobody is working in your industry, then add some mass transit.
