Do you want an animated avatar? Post a few pictures here and I can animate them in a serise, with some cool effects like fade, or dissolve or the ones in my avatar and sig.

Avatars will come as *.gif s and gif s do except transparency but the gif animation compression system ignores low ocapacity. If the avatar is too big for ST, you may have to give less pictures but I doubt it. If you have any questions, you are welcome to post.

Yes hosting off site would be nice but we are more worried about page loading times alougth I woudent worrey to much as only seriousley big avators are a proplem.

The limit to the avatars size is pretty big, what was it -- 250000 bytes? So I'll make avatars as small as possible without ruining the quality.

Howdy,

I'd like to have something done with the background of my current avatar. That avatar is a photograph of an animation cel, so there actually is no background.

I was thinking of putting a splash of color back there myself, but I thought it would be more interesting to see what you could come up with. I have the following preferences:

1) It must be discreet. The current character must be the focal point.

2) The bg can be animated or static. Up to you. But the character must remain as is.

I'll leave everything else up to you. After all, sometimes it's more interesting to see what others will come up with instead of doing it myself.

What I meant was static, as in non-animated.

But it's up to you. Just make it look good.

I thought by static you ment like one of my sig pics where the backround looks the TV isn't working. I think it'll look cool to have the backround move but not the character.

Yeah, the background is currently gone. Now to brainstorm possible backgrounds...

I'm not terribly crazy about TV style static. Seems that it would be visually overpowering. But I couldn't know that for sure.

I'm still interested in seeing the results of whatever you decide to do.

You could just copy and paste my avatar onto your computer. Why? I just need the background changed from white to Simtropolis Tan! As you can tell by my avatar, it doesnt blend in does it? Could you? Thanx a many!

Would I be able to get these two pictures to be animated so it fades from one picture to the other every 2 seconds or so?

I think just about everyone knows what these two pictures have in common!

And also, what program do you use to animate them? And can you recommend any good freeware ones that can do the exact thing. Can it be done in Adobe Photoshop Elements? If it can, thats great. I don't have it but my school does.

Look good? I use Animation Shop 3 for animation and sometimes I will use Macromedia Flash MX Professional. I don't use Photoshop or Adobe Paint Shop (Or whatever it's called), I do all my editing in Paint Shop Pro 8 so I really don't know. Are you kidding about good freeware, really! I doubt this is aany good but I heard it is OK ---- A GIF animator .

 

Zelgadis: Still thinking about backgrounds. I thought it might be cool to have a nature background if you know what I mean .

so u add my current sig image + u add the text on that image with a nice fade effect or something. oh and i need the second image[which has text] with a Black-blue-Black gradient.

I asumed you wanted a faded transition, if not, I'd be glad to redo it (It only takes like 5 minutes).

I would like my avatar background (originally white, as you can see) to blend in to the background of the simtropolis columm. Thanks a lot

I'm working on it, Gen. The white backround in your image wasn't solidly white so I am removine the backround myself and replacing it with the ST column color. I would normally use transparency but it would be better to be able to save it as 16 million colors (Transparency limits it to 256 colors).
