Merry Christmas to everyone here and good morning!! :D ~

Firstly I would like to apologize for my bad English grammer,English was not my mother tongue language...and sorry if I do something wrong...

Well,i have a problem here...as mention in the title...I have no idea why my city is snowing on the mountain...Everything is just fine before I obliterate my previous city...

I never downloaded any mod or plugin that cause the snow, such as Antarctic terrain mod or PEG Snow mod...

And...even I temporarily remove the whole plugin folder, which mean I play the city without any plugin.but it the same...Now,I don't what can I do and hence I hope someone can help me figure out what just happened.....

Here,I attached a picture..hopefully it is helpful....

Notes:In my timezone here,today is 25 Dis...but I hope it doesn't cause that... :ducky:

Thanks for any reply.thank you

It's not a plugin, snow forms on mountains on Christmas. It'll be gone tomorrow.

To search for the ideal city today is useless. For all cities are different. Each one has its own spirit, its own problems, and its own pattern of life. As long as the city lives, these aspects continue to change. Thus to look for the ideal city is not only a waste of time but may be seriously detrimental. In fact, the concept is obsolete; there is no such thing.

Oh wow. I guess I've never played the game on Christmas before, because I've never seen this happen. Even my roads at higher elevations are all buried under snow! Too funny!

This Easter egg has a "cheat" counterpart. If you have the extra cheats dll, the command snow will have the same effect. It is a toggle.

Just keep the date in your computer as 25 Dec and as long as you don't change the date to another day, then the snow will not gone even after christmas.

thanks for the quick response! but my pc automatically sets the date and in any event would be annoying to have to keep the date on December 25th .... there is some program or mod that allows me to turn on the snow without having to change the calendar?

If I'm not wrong, there is a cheat to keep the snows by typing 'Snow' after CTRL+X (Cheating is not recommended, but this is possibly your best solution)

Probably searching for a snow mod is your best option now. Use the search tool and type 'snow mod' and I'm sure if you will find them.

I'm not certain (so ask Nonny about this), but I think you need the plugin for the "snow" cheat to work. :uhm:

Correct. The 'snow' command is enabled by the extra cheats dll. It is moot whether these are cheats, except in traditional gaming terms. Many of them are developer debug commands, and some of them, like 'drawpaths' are very handy if you are having network trouble.

Personally, I think "cheating" is all relevant to the individual player anyway. Some people like to add money to the game to enable them to build what they want without waiting to accumulate the needed income, and other people don't want to wait around for the rewards to show up, so they use the "you don't deserve it" cheat to make them available immediately - and still others use "fightthepower" to avoid building power plants or placing utility lines. Then there are purists who play the game straight up the way it was designed, with the player acting as a mayor trying to run a city. Due to the fact that I lean toward being an artist with this game (since it's a creative outlet for me), I use the cheats. I don't care about playing as a mayor. Like many things, it's a matter of "to each his own", so the issue of "cheating" as not being recommended is a rather moot point...as Nonny said.

I not only use the published cheats, but I have created lots that could be considered cheats and I use them all the time. Other than the water and power lots I made, the only other cheat I use regularly is the moolah command. I have some standards, after all.

With moolah, I generally set the treasury at the outset depending on the lot size. I don't use it for small tiles. For medium tiles, I set the treasury to an initial value of 300000, and large lots get 500000. This is basically because I don't want to be bothered with waiting around for money to accumulate since I always play on Hard mode with the game in Turtle at the beginning, and maybe up it to Rhino as it starts to slow down. And yes, hurry is always a mistake. You tend to overlook things.

Also remember that old age and treachery will always defeat the young and honest.

After I save and exit to region the snow disappears! Is it possible to have snow permanently and only on the mountains? I want such a mod that can be campatible with SimMars.

Search on the STEX for a 'snow capped peaks' mod.  Snow on Mars is rather impossible unless it is carbon dioxide snow.
