I have some questions

Whew. That is quite a lot of questions.

What do you use to make buildings?
You make buildings with the BAT (Building Architect Tool.) You use Lot Editor to take your BAT and add some detail to the lot itself.

Where is the Lot Editor (LE) and the BAT?
You can find them on the official Simcity 4 site. You must be product registered.

What are textures?
Textures are something you apply to a certain object in BAT to give them the sense of an actual building. Such as, a building can't be a building without glass windows. So you texture it to have glass windows.

How do you make textures?
You can easily make textures in photoshop. But I recommend you get them at this site. Please direct your attention to the TEXTURES: OFFICIAL THREAD, which is pinned at the top of Custon Content/Workshop.

What are props?
Props are used in Lot Editor to add some inner detail to the building. You can add flags, fountains, and even people to your building to give it some style.

What is SimMars?
SimMars is a program started here to re-create a multiplayer region, to make the terrain, buildings, and cities martian-like. I don't think it succedded, however. It was also a game that failed to reach a market by Maxis. They released SC3K instead.

Make a region with a digital camera?
I'm not sure what you mean by this, but if you mean take pictures, then just use the picture tool. If you mean create a region, please explain more thoroughly.

How do you make a mod?
Making a mod can really differ. It depends on what you want to mod. Rock, terrain, water, cars, buses, etc. There are a whole lot of things to mod. You might want to search for how to make a mod got this one. Or you can get some mods.

No problem. New people are always curious. I was extremely curious about Simtropoli and SCC when I first started.

Props are things you can use on the lot, like benches, telephonecells, etc...

Simmars is a modification for SC4, it will change the looks and feel of the game itself, before you use that, be sure to read more about it in the simmars threads...

I don't know how you can make an region with your digital camera...

You can make a mod with the right knowledge of the game's code and modifying it to you needs...

 

I only can advice you that you read the omnibus section of this site to get more answers on your questions, most things are described there! Another advice what I can give you is, lurk before you post... that's what I've done before I started to join in on the discussions and asking questions...

Because most questions are asked numerous times, so also search first before asking, sometimes answers are already provided most of the time...

When I was talking about making a region using a digital camera. I had found in someones thread that you can take a picture using a digital camera and the landscape of the region would look like the picture. Where is everybody? No i think the photo region works if you change it to greyscale. I've seen some strange regions on the stex
