Does anyone know if there's a way to diminish, or eliminate, the dust and debris cloud that forms when you demolish something?

There is no mod, fix, or download that I know of, and I have no idea whether that dust cloud is hardcoded in the EXE or moddable. It sometimes gets on my nerves, too.

Go to Graphics Options, and set Visual Effects to low.

That's all you need to do. (Yes, it's that easy.)

Yes, I agree it normally is that easy...and that's precisely why I started this thread, because I already knew about the Visual Effects settings, and I would have SWORN I had them set to low - so I couldn't figure out why I kept seeing the debris cloud. I guess I should have double-checked before posting this thread, because sure enough they were set on medium. I feel like a doofus now. Thanks for the suggestion.

The problem with setting the graphic to low is now the arrow which tells you which way a lot is facing no longer shows up. Why that was tied into visual 'effects' I will never understand. I find the dust cloud extremely annoying but playing the game without knowing which way a lot is facing is even more tedious(often I plop lots without a road nearby or intentionally facing a different direction). Wish there was a mod for that dust crap.
