What is "Snap to Roads"?

Hi, I was reading the description for this mod and it says to get one of the trucks working right you need to have "Snap to Roads" on. What is "Snap to roads"?

"Snap To Roads" refers to the function of the same name in U-Drive-It (UDI) mode, which is enabled by hitting "Shift".

To add to what Tarkus said, basically what it does is limit your driving range to only be on the correct lanes of roads (and streets, etc.) whereas without it you can drive freely without restrictions.

To add to what both persons said, Snap to Paths/Roads means that you "snap to" the actual paths of a road, which is not necessarily the actual lanes themselves, since it's possible to have paths that "fall out" of the lanes (note that lane count is actually irrelevant to SC4), such as TLA networks and networks that have crossover paths (and why you deactivate STP while driving down TLA networks).
