Must have mods to make small spread out villages

I'm planning on making a sim city tile that looks somewhat like my home area. Which means lots of spread out low density areas, a few small "centers" with small police station hospitals etc. Some farms and a railway going trough. Rural style. So, what mods would you consider must have for this? (for instance to alleviate the stupid need to have a clinics every x meter because of their circular coverage, and the commute time!) To make the best small wide-spread housing/farm tile =)

Thanks in advance :)

You don't need much beyond the NAM, and Paeng's rural civil buildings lots. You might want to look for some better clinics. There are some with tremendous radii. If you want dirt streets (dirt roads) you might want the SAM as well, and the SAM Stoppers.

There are also some small buildings (growables) that grow nicely on 1 x 1 and 2 x 1 lots, which relieve the mansion problem. A lot of this stuff is by Paeng or Madhatter106.

And, of course for the farms you need the SPAM. Seasonal farm fields are rather nice to have.

Start small, and grow the area, directing the streets into the desired layout over time. Stay profitable, and have fun.

Thanks :) Also, for railways: Any good rail stations/train skins for these kinds of settlements that you use?

Hunt around. There are lots of them available in just about any style from British Rail to the most modern. I have one that is sort of Victorian that I use a lot. For the reall utilitarian ones try jasoncw. He has some that sit on the track.

Also I recommend the Norwegian Sign Pack mod from Mandelsoft and for some nice busses, the Volvo 9700 shorter version made by Glenni. Sorry no trainmod as Im aware of. I'm looking for norwegian police mods too, but haven't found anything there yet.

Well, is one of them. I did a search in the STEX with the key word Paeng and got three pages, including a rail station and other good stuff. For a comprehensive look at his stuff go to SimPeg (free registration). The Plex is quite nicely organized by category.

MTP is great, also check out the SPAM collection for agricultural stuff which Anonymoose already mentioned. There is also tons of agricultural stuff from the lex which I've used as well.

you can find them here if you search agriculture sc4devotion.com/
