Problem with base texture

Hello, I noticed this problem a few days ago. Base texture is not there. It used to be. On old ones only the blue thing show up (pic 1), and on newly plopped, some props are there, but looks transparent(pic 2). I have all the dependencies. I tried everything (removing last downloaded stuff, and so on). It was fine and now it's not. Picture will tell everything. These are Paeng's old town centre lots. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Nemus

You must have done a patch update of your game recently. I have those lots, no trouble. Make sure your city detail is set to high. This is the usual cause of loss of textures and props. The official patches set everything to low (default).

This is called the underground water bug, or something like that... It is the problem for all lots that don't have base textures: the base looks transparent but if you save your game or go in underground view it will be replaced by the blue grid.

To fix it just go in data view and select zones, then deselect it: your lots have their transparent base textures again. You'll have to repeat the process after each save or view change

Hey, thanks for quick reply. I think i'm in twiglight zone. When I delete old and put new one, it shows properly. I think i'll have to replace them all manually or delete entire city. Picture will tell how much replacements will have to be done. I didn't patch recently, and it doesn't help with zone view (i tried it already). Only thing that occurs to me is that it has to do something with sc4 tool which I ran two weeks ago.

    Anyway, nevermind.

Thanks again, and have a beer on me.

    Greetings,

Sounds like a job for super plugin conflict tracking. There is a binary search method pinned above.

    OK,

i found back up copy of my region and put the city instead of troubled one. Everything was fine until I switched to zone view, and then back, it came out like that.

I thought it had to do something with RRP fences, or terraforming (while locked city), but apparently not.

Never mind, I'll live with that.

    Cheers,

    Nemus

Nemus, while appearing the same as the 'water bug' (lots made without base textures), your's could be due to not having the correct file(s) that provides the base textures for the lots. You might want to double check to be sure you have all dependencies - including any newer versions that might have been used on the lots.

Just a thought. You do have BldgProps_Vol1 and _Vol2, I hope.

By any chance, is there a file named OldTownCenter_Resource_KEEP in your Old Town plugin. It was included in the download and without that file, the textures will be missing. Perhaps you accidentally removed it...?

Nah, scratch that. Without that file, you'd also have brown boxes.

    Hey,

Yeah, I got all the dependencies (including BldgProps_Vol1 and _Vol2), and as I said, on newly built this doesn't happen, only on old ones.

    Thanks anyway for your efforts,
