Having different regions with different sets of buildings?

So, I'm no expert at Simcity, and this might be a rediculous question, but is there a way to having different sets of buildings for different regions on the same computer? I've replaced all of the Maxis buildings on my computer with downloaded stuff that all has an American style, but I'm interested in having different regions look different: one European, one British, that sort of thing. Is there any way to do that on one computer? Any ideas?

You have a couple options. One is to create different plugins folders and swap them in and out as you switch regions. You can also create folders with names such as "Plugins1", "Plugins2, etc. inside the My Documents/SimCity4 folder and simply delete the number at the end of the one you want to use.

The other is to try SC4 Startup Manager (although I'm not sure it works for systems other than Xp) which will do the swapping for you. There's also a version 3, but I find version 2 easier to use.

create a new target under the shortcut's properties

here is the target i use for the game that is heavily modded:

    "C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\simcity 4 deluxe\Apps\SimCity 4.exe" -UserDir:"C:\Users\TysonS4\Documents\SimCity 5\"

make sure you notice the quotation marks and -userdir:"yourpathfornewdirectory"

here is what the one is for strictly maxis play mode:

    "C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\simcity 4 deluxe\Apps\SimCity 4.exe" -ExceptionHandling:off

when you do it right it will take a moment to start up and will copy all pertanant data to your new folder destination, then quit simcity and load that new plugin folder with plugins you want

you can create many many shortcuts to new directories where you can have many different styles of play, i had like 8 on my old computer will all different kinds of mods in each one, each having it's own flavor

    hope i helped.
