Hey all, with the NHL Season scheduled to begin on October 5, 2005 I thought it would be appropriate to re-create an NHL Trivia. Originally this was thought of by brentford but I will acknowledge the fact he created this trivia game first. Thanks brentford.

Without all due to respect it would be wise to go over the rules that I have for this game.

New Rule: First player who answers the question correct will receive 10 points. There will be no point deductions taken away for wrong answers, however you may only answer once until at least someone else has answered the question or I have said your incorrect. You

Correct. The Colorado Avalanche won the Presidents Trophy in 2001 while winning the Stanley Cup for the 2nd time in history with Raymond Borque finally winning it all.

    zmveliger...10 pts

    Question 2.

Which NHL Arena is the oldest in the league and possibly the biggest problem of this franchise. Bonus: When did the arena open?

Mellon Arena in Pittsburgh opened in 1961. It is the oldest in the NHL, and Pittsburgh's reluctance to build a new arena might force the Penguins to move to another city.

Correct. Hopefully the team stays as it is my favourite NHL Team. Since I made a mistake in question 1 the correct answer is 5 not 3. However I will award zmveliger the full points.

I would say it was Bobby Orr's goal against St. Louis in the 1970 Stanley Cup Finals.

Interesting, since there was a book written about it that called the goal the most famous in history. I have a copy of it on my book shelf.

I believe you 100% that it could be argued as one of the most famous goal but its not what I was looking for3.gif. Either way I will be generous and let you have another shot.

    Mark
PS For a huge hint it happened at least 10 years before i was born (sometime in the 70's)5.gif
