The KKK was respected down south, no doubt. But it was because they fit right in with the racist culture, not for staging a crusade against moonshine.

Canada is the real land of the free, as you will find if you just visit. If you are Creole, you'll find your relatives living in the Acadian areas of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.

First and foremost, the Bible doesn't mention most animals on this planet, so it would be more unusual that they would be specifically mentioned than that they wouldn't. Second, although the Bible makes no explicit mention of dinosaurs, there are several Bible verses that are believed to reference dinosaurs.

I have a cousin who moved to Canada to go to school and he wants to become a permanent resident, but he doesn't want to give up his American citizenship and become a Canadian citizen since he's afraid that if he does that US Customs won't ever let him back into the country.

These kinds of teachings are part of what holds our country back academically from other nations. Being from Illinois, I'd be in outrage if something like that happened here. But at the same time this would be awesome if teachers teach me this i can always do smart and tell the reality to my teachers and i won't get punished because i know and they know i'm right

But me as an european atheïst middle school apprentice would hate this. If you do something like that in my country, the middle school would lose its liscence. I'm going to a christian middle school but the only christian part about my school is that we have the subject religion whit a very cool teacher so that helps.

Unless the rules have changed recently, dual citizenship is possible. However, if the U.S. then drafts you, it is time for real decision.

The law is a big vague on this. Here's a snip from the US State Dept. website:

In order to lose U.S. citizenship, the law requires that the person must apply for the foreign citizenship voluntarily, by free choice, and with the intention to give up U.S. citizenship.

That part at the end is the interesting bit. If you express no intention of giving it up, you're safe. I don't think they go around checking too much for these things though. Personally, I don't really care if they take it away from me or not. I won't be needing it anymore. Anyway, you don't automatically lose US citizenship and travel isn't a problem at all. I know a guy with three nationalities, one being US, and he does just fine.

Sarge, if you are a minor you'll have to wait until you are an adult unless you talk your family into coming.

Otherwise you can take a practice cruise by getting a student visa and attending the Canadian university of your choice. Expensive, but maybe enlightening.

If you really want to get the picture, I suggest Carlton or U. of Ottawa, both in the national capital or you could look at Queen's at Kingston or either Wilfred Laurier University or the U. of Waterloo both in Kitchener-Waterloo, or even the University of Western Ontario at London. Even if you only do one year here, you can probably transfer credits south.

There are lots of other universities in Canada and my list is only the ones close to me. One of the most respected is Dalhousie in Halifax, for example. Halifax has five other degree granting institutions. The only city I've ever been in where McDonald's serves McLobster (no fooling).

For a real dose of culture shock, you could also try Memorial U. in St. John's, Newfoundland or French-speaking Laval at Quebec City.

Oh, and about the citizenship thing: That's between you and the State Department. We don't care if you have more than one passport. And speaking of passports, even U.S. citizens now require a passport to re-enter the United States even from your closest ally and neighbour (us) thanks to the mess resulting from 9/11. Homeland Security is doing its "job".

I could go on and on, because there are great schools in every province. All of them have web sites, so have a look. It is free to look and anonymous as well.

Schools I've attended are Queen's, and U. of Toronto. I've worked at U. of Waterloo.

Is correct to respect the identity of a region, since the South has an independent sense, but this kind of deviations in the education parametters should not be tolerated.

The federal government does not set education standards. That is the domain of the states.

Then something is getting out of control, maybe the federal government is giving too much liberty to the states.

Again: Regional identity is ok, and the federal government must repect it. But there should be an universal control and common parametters.

You see this is an expression of "freedom" in the U.S. This kind of freedom is detrimental to the body politic, but the people in control can be as red-necked as they choose and are allowed to get away with. Wait till someone in that part of the states tries to declare pi=3.0. I think one of the east coast states tried that a few years ago.

The federal congress often gives money straight to school districts (skipping states), hopefully that school does not currently receive it. Of course, this still means our current civilization is on a decline. Our society will slowly rot away into the anti-utopia of cyberpunk.

I can't believe there is no opposition to this nonsense in these states. Do these people expect to get re-elected or re-appointed or whatever. When the graduates find they can't go to school in the better schools they'll probably raise the dickens.

These people are officially promoting ignorance and superstition.
