is there any way to get buildings to stop developing once the lot grows to a building i like? every time i get a city looking how i want it the building will change and ill end up with many of the same buildings in the area. i thought making them historical stopped them from developing but it turns out it dont, any help on this would be great thanks.

does making a building historical do anything?

Yes. Making a building historical makes it permanent. Do you have any mods overriding the historical mark? Make sure the box has an X in it, or it is not historian.

oh $%&^! i must have something over riding it because iv watched ones i made historic change. ill wipe out my plugins and see if that does the trick thanks for the reply

I don't know whether that is the right solution. You probably wreck it more this way (boxes). You could use the instead. There is a cheat which makes every building plopable. This way you have a little more control over the buildings in your city.
