Region will not move

I am playing on a windows 7 system, 64 bit. I have a pretty big region but I can not roam around my region. It loads up on the northwest corner but I can not move around. I can click on a city and play it but that's it.

Have you tried right-clicking while dragging your mouse in the direction you want to go?

It is in region view when it wont move. I tried but to no avail

Try opening a city and then exiting back to the region. What happens when you use the arrow keys to navigate around the region.

Are you in windowed mode or full screen? Is your game fully updated?

Full screen and un-modded. I am thinking the region is to big. Screwing with the resolution settings next. Gonna put it on the lowest setting.

Do you use a mouse or a track-pad? Also try quitting SimCity 4 and restarting your computer. The region size cannot be too big. All sizes are the same.

I created my own region. It is rather large. I am thinking it is the RAM. I only have 2 GB and I believe that is what is screwing with it now. I can not think of anything else to trouble shoot.

So it only does it on that one region? If so, how big is it? Except for being in window mode, I've not seen mention of not being able to move around. Having 2 GB of memory should be ample, considering the game was made to run on much less, but perhaps the size of the region could matter.

By "un-modded," do you mean you haven't updated? If not, you should. The updates are available at SC4Devotion or EA's site.

Hey Sunny and Captain, didn't mean to be rude by not responding to you. I didn't realize you had messaged me. I will try the update you suggested but I can not remember if I did that or not. I think I did but I will try again. Thank you.

Don't worry about it. An easy way to check is to navigate to your Simcity apps folder. For me it is located at:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Maxis\SimCity 4 Deluxe\Apps

Yours might be different. Right click on the Simcity 4 application and select Properties. Then select the Details tab. The file version should be 1.1.640.0 or higher. If it isn't, that means you haven't updated, or the update didn't install successfully.
