Police Stations/Kiosks?

I have a city of about 115,000 and for reason at the far corner of my airport, I keep being told that I should be a police station because their is criminal activity or something. The weird part is, I already HAVE a police station there...so I built a second one and several kiosk's, and still I get the same thing...and the helicopter is just hovering there. What is going on? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

Eric

This a SimCity bug. Look on STEX for a mod that doubles the radius of police cars. I can't seem to find it right now.

Or maybe use this:

Mega-lots (like the airport, country club, etc) are bugged and will always plague you with crime. I'd suggest downloading a crime mod on the STEX. Crime Doesn't Pay is a good one. I can't bring myself to play without it.

Also surround big lots completely with a street or road. This helps police penetration. And remember, just put the police stations not simply close, but just next. An ingame international airport is OK if surroumded by a road or street and has two large police stations (one at each opposite end). Just tolerate the overalapping of their coverage areas; remember that the effectiveness of police stations is linearly reduced from 100% at the center to 0% at the border of the coverage area.

Now I remember why I put ring roads around all my large lots.

Reading the last 2 posts I get that using that method, the no-crime mod isn't necessary to prevent bad stituations?

I'm particularly interested in the Country Club case, since I mostly use that to lure R$$$ in, and crime does the opposite...

I noticed a worse crime effect with airports, University and Major League Stadium more than with anything else.

I have not had an issue anywhere else in my city, other than in that one corner of the airport. A helicopter just hovers over the police station that is there and I keep getting a message that there is crime in that spot. I just got the Crime Doesn't Pay mod...so I will see if that works

I've been using that mod for years. It helps but does not completely solve the problem. Make sure your airports or other large lots are within the circle of a police station, and add a police kiosk where you see the cop 'copter. Always put a ring road around these large lots.
