Japan El-Rail Bridge Glitch

Hello forums,

I recently added Moonlight's El-rail facelift, and now everytime I build a bridge with elevated rail, the following occurs:

Do you have the newest version of NAM installed. I tried his face-lift mod and noticed the same. I just assumed it wasn't totally compatible with possible NAM changes. Or perhaps wasn't included in the original mod. Just a thought...

Hey, I have that mod aswell, and I've looked into it, it always does that glitch, which is unfortunate, since it's such a great mod

This is because the repeat piece (section with no pylon) for Maxis ELR bridge shares the same IID as regular orthogonal piece. In order to prevent this effect, IID for the repeat piece needs to be changed into different IID than regular piece. It will be needed anyway due to the implementation of Draggable GLR Extension, pylons for ELR have been turned into props added via Type21 Exemplar. If you drag the bridge without using ML's mod, you'll get extra pylons under the repeat piece.

It appears that is beyond my ability. So maybe I'll just scrap that... but I was looking for elevated rail mod that looks like this:

I know it's my moonlight, but I can't seem to find it....

I believe that was his older catenary mod. I didn't see it on his site, but if you use one of the links to his SkyDrive archives, it might be there. Also, given it's age, I don't know how well it appear with newer NAM versions.

[EDIT]: okay, so I got onto his skydrive thingy. But there's the ML El-Rail Catenary MOD, the zz ML Japanese El-Rail Catenary MOD, and the zzzzzzz ML JPN El Rail MOD n-texture. Which one(s) do I get to avoid the glitch as above? Because all i really want is just the el-rail with the soundwalls, like his previous mod...

Try this: Moonlight's blog. Then click on any of the blue "Download" links to bring up his archives. Then click on the "SC4" in the directory path at the top. That will give you a list of his files where you can see his Catenary Mod.

Well, the ML El-Rail Catenary MOD merely provides catenaries to the ELR...

But that's not what you're looking for. The zzzzzzz ML JPN El Rail MOD n-texture is his newest ELR alteration...

But that's the one that doesn't work with the bridges. There was one named zz ML Japanese El-Rail Catenary MOD...

This was the predecessor of the new one. The bridges did work for that one. Unfortunately, I noticed that the folder in his archives was empty, so it looks like it isn't available. Have you tried to use the other ELR bridges?

Do you mean these? I think those were for the older set, which isn't available. Or were there fixes for the bridge issue with the newer set?

The ElRail over Road fixes is what I was talking about.

As for the bridges, it's a different problem and directly related to how SC4 manages ElRail and those bridges in particular and can't be fixed without modifying the Maxis files.
