Take a look at the above picture, it shows the possible route that the people in this house can take to go to work. That said, the commute doesn't seem very long but when I open up the house info box, it says the commute is long.

Help would be thanked.

most likely theres to few jobs for the sims that live there

Exactly. The commute shown is short, but you have a number of workforce Sims in the building who are unemployed. When their long commute time is averaged in, the building's commute time is long. If you look at the number of Sims traveling to work from the building, and then look at the building's population, you'll see that the first number is significantly less than half of the second.

If it isn't the jobs, it could just be what sims consider "long". Without NAM, they only like to walk a couple tiles. That probably isn't the problem though.

No, it definitely is not; please see my previous post for the explanation. As for what the Sims consider "long", it is defined to be 2/3 of the "Commute trip max time" property in the traffic simulator. Sims who commute to another city or who can't find a job are assigned a commute time significantly higher than this.

Now I have a second problem. I have a large city with 1.2 million sims, and even though I have an enormous subway system (with about one station for every four blocks), and have used this and adjusted "Network Capacity" to 2.0 (maximum), my system still shows 300% usage. My roadways are already jam-packed and I am getting complaints from the Transportation Advisor about once a month. What should I do?

Thanks in advance,

Chris

More important than the Network Capacity Multiplier, what's your Base Network Capacity? (Low, Medium, etc.) Could you post a congestion map of your city?
