Will Simcity 2013 have 'resources'?

I saw in a few comments that Simcity 2013 will have resources like cities XL had, is that true?

I really thought they were a major downfall in cities XL because they took away from city building and limited me on what I could build.

What about the groups of population (eg. executives, factory workers etc (I can't remember their names!)) instead of Lower/middle/upper class? I don't like the sound of that either!

As to the OP question, they have mentioned physical resources like coal, oil, and water. Some will be renewable and others not. It's also been mentioned that those resources will be visibly used in a production line, going from extraction to processing to manufacturing on a completely visible 1:1 ratio.

No mention has been made thus far about "population" resources that CitiesXL uses. Although workers will be able to move from city to city, I don't think it's going to be the same as CitiesXL, but it's hard to say at this point how the whole system will work.

Personally, I like the novelty of Tokens and resources and find SimCity 4 pasé.

Ocram's Razor: Though "more things shouldn't be used than are necessary," they're just too fun to pass up! Expect many verbose arguments from me. I will try to write abstracts before or short summaries after from now on.

    Words to live by:
"Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit; to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit... But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually..." 1 Corinthians 4-11

"Do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Matthew 6:34
"Do not judge so that you will not be judged. For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you." Matthew 7:1-3

I like the concept of resources in general as long as they allow me to turn it off in singleplayer if I so desire.
