Cant Download Mods!

I have WinZip and when i download a mod i have to open the file an it gives me 2 options on how to open it i can either use the internet or use a list of programs(which also includes the internet) and when i use the internet it sais it cant recogniza the file, and when i choose the list then the internet it just doesnt download has anyone had the same problem or knows how to fix this. Please Help Me!!!! Any information will help thank you.

Right click on the zipped folder and choose "un-zip" from the menu, then open the new folder and read the read-me. Usually you just place this new folder into your "documents\Simcity 4\Plugins" directory for it to work.

Yes, I'm with Jim 546 as a rule ...

But sometimes You can download some .rar files ..., not on STEX but from another SC4 sites ...

My mind You can have WinRAR program for all causes, may be except .alz (traditional Korean) files - if I'm right ...

WinRAR automatically saves zipped files as .RAR files. Even off the STEX.

But whether or not they're .zip or .rar files, you basically do the same thing (right click, "extract" or "extract here" or "unzip" or whatever)

Programs like PeaZip or 7-Zip unpacks most known zipped folders.. including .rar and .alz

I seem to remember that they give you a list to choose from which kinds of file types the program should handle...

But then again: it's been a while since I've changed

Are you sure you are unzipping the zip folders and not trying to open the files within the zip folders themselves? That sounds like the message you get when doing that. Once the files are out of the zip, you don't need to open them. Just a thought...
