Im working on my first proper Farm District for my Region. What would be considered 'essential mods' bats etc, for this? Is there an optimal size farm lots should be, or are industrial mega-szed lots the way to go? One thing I am looking for is, farms just dont create enough jobs of course, there must be a mod to create a more realistic jobs level for farms. Or if anyone has link for a good tutorial on farm districts, be great too,

Thanks

However, if you use the NAM, give the SPAM controller a bypass. They are incompatible.

Some other things you might consider:

- Rural energy: this can be either wind power, hydro power or solar power. There's stuff for both in the STEX

- Rural buildings: you should add a greater variety of rural buildings, such as agricultural freight terminals, cabins, shacks and both historic and present agropecuarian buildings

- Natural features: get a pond kit to create small streams, ponds and small lakes--this is especially beneficial if the terrain in which the rural area you want isn't suitable for use of the game's seawater for rivers and lakes. Trees suiting the climate region you want for the rural region are beneficial, the same with a corresponding terrain mod.

As for the farming and livestock estates, think of what kind of rural area you want--it can be more traditional (villages, scattered housing and small parcels, often with irregular shapes conforming to the terrain) or modern (huge parcels and industrial-sized agro buildings, with little small housing around).

I used the demand ordinance. Skyrockets all my demand so I have an endless demand for Farms. (as well as the rest)

Buuuut it does sound like that SPAM thing is what you're looking for.

SPAM is definitely where its at. You should register at SimPeg (free) and access the SPAM link on the PLEX. This is where all the very latest stuff is. SPAM has a lot of extensions. You might also want to look at MTP while you are there and you can get a pond kit. For rural stuff it is a one stop shopping centre.
