Sims not using cars...?

Hey guys,

I just have a quick question that I'm hoping you can all help me with.

I recently took notice that none of my Sims seem to be using cars. The only traffic I have on my roads are freight trucks and pedestrians, no matter the distance of their job. I had installed a traffic simulator but I didn't really use it, and I also recently uninstalled it.

Does anyone know what the issue might be?

Looks like a good start. If you've got people walking to work, try sticking some bus routes along the main routes to get there. Use the route query to find where the long pedestrian jumps are.

Alright. I'll try that out. My main concern though is that I don't remember Sims not using cars at the beginning of the game. Is it always like this?

Sims do use the cars at the beginning. I think the NAM makes them slightly more likely to walk. Are you sure you removed the traffic simulator correctly? Perhaps you also have one installed that stops sims from getting to work by driving (park & ride option enabled in the config tool).

Do you have an outdated transit simulator and the NAM?

I have the NAM and I HAD a traffic simulator. I'll try installing it again and check out the settings. Hopefully that'll do something.

Sounds like the Park&Ride simulator, I've seen people do this before.

So I downloaded the most recent version of NAM including the traffic simulator. I'll start a new city and see if anything's fixed.
