Uneffective traffic config tool (NAM)

Hey,

I've got problems with the traffic configuration .exe provided along with the NAM. Basically no matter what happens, it runs normally and all (both in German and English); I try to change values and it saves pretty fine, but the next moment I run Simcity there are no changes. The troubling part is that when I try to reopen the traffic editor, the old values have come back and whatever I changed was reset.

--Or do I need to run the traffic tool once, then Simcity or something?

Sounds like file permission problems. Be sure you have write permissions on all the files involved.

Something like that. Are you running from an Admin account or a regular user account?

    Hi,

I've tried to remove all the Maxis files' read only status but it didn't do anything as the tool still doesn't register changes. Likewise I removed every single read-only status from the files in the plugins, region etc. folders (just to be sure) but the traffic tool still doesn't register changes.

Running it in admin only mode simply makes it NOT run. I don't even get to the language choosing window. Nothing, just the bat running, the bat window closing, and nothing.

I've tried both in English and German if it did anything (my game is in German, so perhaps there was a conflict there), but I reach the same conclusions.

I have also disabled backups and re-enabled them, then re-disabled them for good. No changes. The tool simply won't register changes and keeps loading the data from the file NetworkAddonMod_Traffic_Plugin_ZP_High_Custom.

Deleting/removing just the traffic simulator file will not delete the NAM. Re-starting the TSCT should create a new traffic simulator file.

From the sounds of the file name, it actually sounds like you created a custom Park-and-Ride version of the High simulator with the TSCT already.

Allright..so I basically changed it and it did nothing.

However I have decided to clear all the .dat files it created in my NAM folder....and apparently now it works again.

    Thanks everyone. ^_^

Did you install the TSCT in your NAM folder? If so, this will definitely cause problems; in such a case, you should uninstall it and install it anywhere outside your Plugins hierarchy.

Oh, it's in Programs/TSCT, but it created .dat files in my Plugins folder that just were seeming to overfill, and it's possible it is what confused my tool.

Either way, it seems to work fine now. Thanks again =)
