Parks not displaying properly?

Hi Folks!

Well, as a child Sim City 2000 was my favorite game. For a bit of nostalgia / boredom relief I recently purchased & downloaded Sim City 4. I've so far been having fun making cities (although they're mediocre compared to some of the ones I've seen on this site- WOW!).

Anyway, I'm not sure my Parks are displaying correctly. The stock Maxis parks, playground, gazebo, etc all just end up looking like a grassy area (without the 3d objects). Additionally, the flower parks look just like flattened color. Is this the way it was designed, or do I have a bug or am I missing something?

If you can help, I'd appreciate it :)

Thanks Much!

What are your graphics settings at? If you have them turned down too low, some objects may not display correctly.

Hi Cobhris- thanks for your quick reply! Are you referring to graphics settings within the game itself (which I don't yet know how to change! Oops!) or graphics/resolution settings on my computer? Sorry for being so dingy :)

    Thanks for your help!

Final comment. If you have had to put the official patches in the game, the process always sets your graphics to low.
