Question after installing NAM Hotfix Package 301

Hi all,

I'm not sure if this is the right place for this question. If it isn't please can it be moved and accept my apologies?

I've just installed the NAM Hotfix Package 301 but I've noticed 4 .dat files in the root of my hard drive.

NetworkAddonMod_Controller_LEFT_HAND_VERSION.dat

NetworkAddonMod_IndividualNetworkRULs.dat

NetworkAddonMod_LEFT_HAND_VERSIONS_ONLY_Required_Additional_Plugin.dat

NetworkAddonMod_UI.dat

Is there a problem with my installation or am I correct in thinking that these are simply backups of the previous file versions?

Many thanks.

Thanks for your reply. I've just tried reinstalling the update but with the root folder visible and the installer clearly placed the files in the folder. Any ideas why it would do that and what I can do to try to fix it?

    Thanks again.

I've checked the installer script. It seems the part of the script that handles the files you mentioned as part of the LHD installation was missing a bit. Namely, the bit that was supposed to install the files in the installation directory, so they're apparently ending up on the root drive instead. That'll require repackaging the file.

In the meanwhile, the way to fix it would be to manually take the files that are being installed on the root drive and move them to your My Documents\SimCity 4\Plugins\Network Addon Mod folder. Allow it to overwrite any existing files of those names in the directory.

    Just to note...

I tried to re-create sn1975's issue, but when I tried installing the left-hand drive files, the installer kept skipping them. I did manage to get them in the root folder just once (after many, many trials) by selecting different combinations of options in different order, but never did manage to replace the NAM 30 files. For what it's worth...
