I'd really love to see the whole New York City region with all the outer boroughs 3.gif Even for non-New Yorkers, (like me, I'm from the Netherlands), it would be interesting if you recreate the whole region, at least that's what I think. Have you downloaded the accurate scale New York City map from the MEX already??

This city kicks ass!! 10.gif

You're doing an awesome job on this city dc82. It looks very accurate for using the tools on sc4 you did a very nice job working with everything and I look foward to your updates sometime in the near future and I also look foward to seeing more from your Manhattan map and good luck on that one as well.

Great job on making NYC. expecially with the amount of accuracy and resemblance to the real thing. Totally unrelated, I think Calahine Communications looks a lot like 1 Financial Square (Is this the correct name? I don't remember.) in NYC... Does anyone else see it?

but yeah it started out low density. i think the biggest prob. was commute time. i had to use the mod to get people to be able to go all the way downtown to work. so then my commercial demand rose.

Hi, DC,
I've been following your region for a while now, and I think it looks great! Was wondering what mod you are referring to in this post (it was made four months ago, I know).
Thanks

Hey dc82,

Any chance you would be willing to share your NY or have you posted it somewhere that it's already available? I dunno if that's like asking you for your first child or something, so if the answer's no, it's all good. 2.gif If you get a chance gimme a shout: scott@bondsc.com.

My God 6.gif I'm in awe, this city has moved me. I think you deserve extreme recognition dc82. What a perfect city. You should definitely be nominated for the 2004 golden Llama Awards for an outstanding beautiful city. I'm a New Yorker myself and when I see it, it motivates me and I'm sure others to create their own city journals. You are one of  the reasons why I started Palm City II. Excellent. 1000000/10!!!! 4.gif

I love the accuracy of your city and its so beautiful i nearly crapped myself.9.gif
I notice in one of the districts in Manhattan there were only 230,000 sims. howmany live there because in the real world there are 8,000,000 in the city center area, and over 17,000,000 in the metropolitan area! Now since you have the realism in apperance you gotta 8,000,000 (if you don't have them of course). However you don't have to do it if you don't want too of course im just sayin'. Either than that YOUR DOING AN ASTRONOMICAL JOB!!! 21.gif

what you see is one region comprised of many cities - eg. midtown, downtown, flushing, bayonne, great neck, uptown.

Good job with the New York City simulation... it's good to hear from a fellow Stern student (I'm a Stern MBA grad from 2000).51.gif

Let me know if I could be of any help to you. (You are welcome to use my sites as resources!)

    Hey very nice job!!!
So much so it inspired me to do my first post.

I'm a west coaster now, transplanted from the NYC area...its refreshing to see that the simulator also congests up all over Midtown...

    Great job!!
I'd be interested in seeing the subway volume map with it's various lines.

And Union Square is great, it was my stop when I lived there.
When you do Jersey make sure you throw the PATH trains in.

    Peace.

I have to agree, this is a fairly accurate city. I've been to New York City fairly recently, and this follows it pretty well. Surprisingly, the real city is pretty safe.

just for the record....New York City's city center, which would be the borough of Manhattan, only has approximately 1.5 million residents. It is all 5 boroughs of New York City as a whole--The Bronx (1.5 million), Brooklyn (2.5 million), Queens (2.2 million), Manhattan (1.7 million) and Staten Island (500,000)--that has a little over 8 million, and the metropolitan area proper hovers just over 21 million.

I think it's about time that we all should dispel the theory of New York City only being comprised of Manhattan.45.gif45.gif45.gif

Sorry in my original post, I mistyped Manhattan's population to be 1.5 million, then later in the post I restate the population to be 1.7 million when it should have been 1.7 million throughout the post. 43.gif
