Growing More Dense Residentials

    G'day there,

I have zoned all residentials etc to medium & high density and the demand for more residents is pretty high.

I have the cop shop, firies, hospital & clinics, libraries, both prmary (elementary) and high schools, a college, a uni and a museum. There are clinics and a hospital. There are some parks in my city. All buildings are watered & powered. There's an incineration plant also.

    The taxes are at 2.0%.

There are medium and high wealth residents there and the residential population is above 1600.

I have both of the Realistic Residential Mods in the plugins and I have experimented with the Plopmatic 9000.

All that has been built are houses and so far there aren't any mid rises developing.

No bugger wants to move in to my city!!!

Should I delete the Realistic Residential Mods from the plugins?

Should I dezone some of the residential areas?

    Any tips are very welcome.

    Thanks in advance.

After reading what you've done, seems that your city still has no neighbouring cities. I don't really like it much, but neighbouring cities help you a lot to make your demand rise. Make sure you connect the neighbouring cities and you should see radical changes in your main one.

It takes time to get tall, dense residential buildings. (i know it did with me at least) Try building and expanding your city and some neighbor cities naturally outwards at a relatively low density, then rezoning certain parts of the city to mediun/dense residential. If your city is big enough, you should see projects and condos soon enough. This is because of the growth stages, a game mechanic that is in place specifically to prevent high-rises from popping up in small towns, but not in big cities. Remember, the bigger buildings are usually 4 by 4 tiles large, or somewhere around that. Hope this helps! ...oh, and don't discount low-density entirely. Believe it or not, there are some sims who might prefer single-family houses in suburbia, per the SimNational Dream. :uhm:
