Budget will not stay put

Hey guys. I am playing SimCity 4 Deluxe on my PC and for some reason every time I set my police budget as high as it will go or sometimes just normal it always goes back to very low and police go on strike. This problem happens even when I reinstall my game.

Anyone know how to get this fixed?

Two possibilities: Your game isn't patched up to date; you have an unfixed Opera House in your game. There is also the faint possibility that you have acquired the "Phantom slider bug".

We need more information.

What is the version of your game? Find this by finding the SimCity 4.exe file in your Program Files folder using windows explorer. Hover your mouse over the file and report the version it gives you. If you are not up to at least 1,1,638 you are missing a massive bug fix. Look around and you will find threads that tell you how to acquire this patch.

Sound like the Phantom Slider. I doubt the Opera House would affect police funding, and I'm runnung an un-updated game and I haven't had any problems except possibly the game crashing if I develop too many zones at once.
