Hello all, I was exiting a city tile and for some reason, the screen started glitching and returned me to the Region and the city I was playing on disappeared. The city is still in the region file and I'd like to know if it is possible to recover the city?

Can you still load the city? Is your game fully updated?

Sorry, but that is a symptom of a corrupt tile. If you have a backup, you might consider importing the city from there (just delete the old one and copy the backed up city in). Beyond that, you have had some kind of glitch during the save and it is el punko junko.

This is not a common occurrence but it does happen, especially if you are trying to do something else during the save. Did you have a power flicker during the save? If you play in windowed mode, did you change to a different window during the save? Any little hiccup can mess up a city tile, but it is rather unusual.

Occasionally a city tile's regional snapshot will simply be gone.

The city is still in the region file and I'd like to know if it is possible to recover the city?

Just to be clear: there is hope! Get Terraformer, UNCHECK the boxes for "Mayor" and "Trees" when the region is loaded, then make a >slight< change to the city tile that disappeared. Save the region, and the city will have a snapshot again.

Note that whatever area you changed using Terraformer will have its trees/development destroyed.

(If you've installed SP1 for Windows 7, you'll need to take an additional step to get Terraformer working.)
