Still paying for a park after demolishing it.

The Konietzko Fountain, when plopped, costs 8 dollars a month to maintain.

If demolished, it still costs 8 dollars a month to maintain and is still displayed in the amenities cost menu. Saving and reloading the city does not cause a reconciliation. My questions:

1: What's causing this? I have looked in the lot file with Reader and found nothing I'd consider unusual, so I'm requesting investigatory assistance.

2: How do I fix it? This 8 dollars is worrying in the sense that the lot isn't properly unloading itself from the game when demolished, and it's possible it's causing secondary issues that aren't immediately observable.

I've never heard of this problem before. I was going to suggest plopping the park and destroying it again, but that would probably just lead to further problems. Are you sure you don't have the same park somewhere else in your city? You could try removing the park from your plugins to see if the problem persists, I don't believe this would lead to the phantom slider bug.

Plopping the park again results in another 8 dollars a month in maintenance that remains after the park is demolished. Removing the lot file results in 8 dollars a month in maintenance that is attached to, literally, nothing.

Unless you feel like debugging that lot, I suggest you drop it from your plugins, pay your 16 simoleans a month until you are done with the city. These things are sent to try us.

    4 months later...

I >attempted< to debug the lot. Never found the exact cause of the problem. Yesterday I finally ran it through PIM-X, and whatever PIM-X did fixed the problem. So yeah. When it doubt, PIM-X it.

These things may be sent to try us, my friend, but I'll be damned if I don't fight back first. >_>

What is PIM-X and where is it?

PIM-X is meant as a replacement for the Maxis Lot Editor, sharing the same functions but also including many more. It's best described as a swiss army knife of different functions for altering and making lots.

One of its most powerful functions is its ability to "Recompute Properties" of a building (This is the one I used which fixed Konietzko Fountain). This adds any missing properties, fixes broken ones, and balances the building's effects to fit with the Maxis standard.

Reading the manual is absolutely required to work with PIM-X; It's user friendly, if one knows how to use its many tools.

Many thanks. Seems I have some studying to do. Pulled in all three files.

I thought I'd give a try at finding out the cause of this issue.

After comparing this fountain to another park lot I have (actually the only other one currently installed because I haven't reloaded my plugins), I found that the Konietzko fountain did not have the "Budget Item: Line" Property that the other lot had. After adding this property and setting the value to be the same (0), the lot now seems to function correctly, and does not stay in the budget menu after being demolished.

I'm only a novice at modding SC4, so I don't quite know what this property is for. At any rate, my copy of this plugin is now fixed! :D

I wonder if we could convince Equinox to fix the download if he comes around again... :P
