It's not the pieces, there's a bug in the game. The {Diagonal Jagged Edges Mod} should fix it.

Do you happen to have a Terrain Mod installed? If so, it (or other mods that affect the same parameters) may be over-riding Pjot's mod (from the above link) if loaded into the game after the Diagonal Fix file. You might try placing Pjot's file into a Plugin folder that starts with "zzz" to make it load after the other Plugin files. Just a thought...
