Yellow Boundries on Zoning Screen

HI tried this once b4 and didn't seem to get an answer, so here we are again.This time I am hopefully providing enough info to get some results. After I get the game up and running and I am trying to decide which region to enter, I get these yellow highlighted transparent boxes. They're not in every city, so I believe it has to be something that have downloaded on the stex. I am playing SimCity 4 Deluxe, with updates. Would love to have added pics, but they won't transfer over....help please.

Where are these 'highlights' appearing? Without a picture of what your are seeing, we're left with guessing at possible scenarios... This might help with uploading images.

You first night check that your graphic settings are all on high. Then you might check to be sure that the settings on your video card are all set to application controlled where possible. SC4 doesn't always function with newer capabilities. Also, have you removed all plugins to see if the issue remains? If it goes away, place plugins back a small group at a time until it can be narrowed down.

try pressing CTRL Shift C and see if they go away this has happened to me a lots of times.. especially when i play sims and then go to simcity and put the cheat box code wrong lol..

I just tried to copi it over after from the actual screen, but it wouldn't paste. I redid the regon ad as i was adding and deleting, I FOUND TAGS under some of modds and buildings. Who ever does the fish graphics tags is the gulty party. i KNOW THeY WANT T SIGN THEIR WORKS, BUT TO THE EXTENT OF DISRUPTING anothers. THey may not be the only ones, but it was the first for me. So can you tell me who they are. Better still tell me how to get ths pic on here so yu can see for yourselves...thanks

To post a picture on this web site, you must first post it on another site that accepts photos. Photobucket is one such site.

Then with that site open, open this one in a new tab, open your post, and using the URL from the photo site, paste it into the picture box dialogue you get when you press the embedding icon (second to the right of the smilie icon above).

With respect to your plugins. Plugin management, as you have found out, is serious business. You are responsible to test each and every new addition in a sandbox region (make a region named sandbox) city to make sure that it works with the rest you already have. There are incompatibilities and because of the number of possible combinations only the end user can test. You seem to be a victim of what I call "shotgunning" plugins. Adding a large number of these at a time is generally fatal.

With respect to your fishy friends, did you get those plugins from this site? Somehow, I doubt it. You need to be sure to only take plugins from reputable sites.

Since it is the only one out of 4 others in the region. They were there long before this. I really appreciate that advice, however, I do a lot of downloading cause I haven't learn to develope my own yet. can't seem to get the how to down yet,working on it. That usually appears when the game is minimized while saving. Usually, it goes away after exiting the game and then loading it again. Have you tried removing your plugins?

oK HERE IS A LINK TO AT LEAST ONE OF THE PICS. However I totally deleted all files including the game itself. Did a complete wipe it all and reinstalled just the basic game. After installing the underground water system, it came back! Now I am really preplexed and it cant be blamed on any of the modds this time.

Deleted all file association and then re=installed the game. Made a sandbox and wouldn't you know it, it's back. Can't say it belongs to anyone, but giving me the blue. Ah. It looks like something went wrong during saving the region view image (happend to me a very few times). Next time, just save and do absolutely nothing on your PC during saving. See if that helps

Actually I do read the readme files. Sometimes I just can't make heads or tails of em. Most of the time I do get em. What I don't understand is the graying out of the dependencies. At times they are hard to get. B4 u go there, yes I have joined a few...the big ones anyway. I just hope I can get over all this so I can go back to building regions. By the way, what do I have to do to learn how to build my own mods, buildings, and so forth. I've been playing for years, but until now...just didn't learn howto...now is the time to, you think...lol?

While I haven't experienced the issue you seem to be having, I have read in several threads where images such as yours might be the result of video card conflicts. You might make sure your card's settings are on application controlled where possible. Also, have you tried running the game in Software mode (in the graphic settings)?

Hopefully someone who may have experienced this will come along with more specific assistance.

That's the image I got too. Looks like graphics settings conflicts at the hardware level. Capt. City has already pointed that out.

What GPU are you running?
