I guess this topic can be more than just Spike's awards. (Since Spike giving away video game awards is baffling in its own)

But eh, these were the results.

Any other 2011 awards for GOTY just post, and hell, even your own personal opinion.

Though I have to admit, this was one of the few Game of the Year contests that I agree mostly with.

Amazingly, this is one of the first VGA's by Spike that I mostly agree with. The only one that stands out as one I don't agree with is shooter of the year (MW3). I also thought LA Noire would win the best graphics and it was obvious that Skyrim and Arkham City would come top in most categories.

I agree with most of that, though I agree that L.A. Noire should have got best graphics. Uncharted looks pretty like it always does, but it only does it on one platform whereas L.A. Noire does it over three. L.A. Noire wins in my book.

I was happily surprised with how much Portal 2 won, it is a fantastic game and the only game on the list I haven't just heard is fantastic, but I've actually had the financial resources to actually experience and love and I actually have a hatred toward those people who Pirate it, something I usually don't do.

Though, reading comments though reminds me just how much the American Education System is an utter failure

GOTY: Skyrim... what else pleaaase? most anticipated, most delivered. period. perferctly agree with that. and the followups are pretty much my idea aswell, altho I would trade either Portal 2 or Zelda with LA Noire

Studio of the Year: Bethesda. Of course, whoever delivers the GOTY should be Studio of the Year. logic ftw

Best 360 Game: oh well, skip that. Best game for the worst console? srsly? But yeah Batman on pole was to be expected here

Best PS3 Game: Oh please... what the heck went wrong here? LA Noire anyone? At least it's Uncharted on one and not Infamous 2 or Killzone 3

Best Wii Game: Zelda yeah. I wouldn't mind seeing it's followup from Disney in first place, but then again Zelda has the hype Disney will never have in gaming ;-)

Best PC Game: Portal 2. Yeah ok, if you want. I'd taken Witcher2 on one. But what in every forsaken being's mind does Battlefield 3 here? Worst shooter since Doom 1. The jury must have been blinded by the shining light of the graphics and totally ignored everything else. And Minecraft... nah I skip that, after a couple weeks I realized that it's 80% hype only

Best Handheld Game: effin A. exactly what I guessed

Best Shooter Game: of course MW3. Cuz it delivered what it promissed. Unlike it's followup BF3 which imho only stands in ANY top list due to visual awesomeness.

Best Action Game: hm yeah I would swap Uncharted and Zelda but AC on 2 following Batman is just right from my point of view.

Best RPG: Skyriiiiiiim. Everything else doesnt matter anymore getting in the ring against this game is like never learned to box but fighting both Klitschkos at once

Best Multiplayer: sounds good to me, altho I'm not that much of a multiplayer when it comes to shooters (which seem to be the only multiplayer games... uhm no, racing anyone? sports anyone? rpg anyone?

Best Individual Sports: Wow didn't even know there's still a Virtua Tennis out there. Fight Night on first was to be expected.

Best Team Sports: 2k12 leading the pack. Ok. I've seen Fifa12 in first position but if you want it that way I'm fine. No football in there anyway so I don't care

Best Racing Game: oh my god. What the heck does NFS The Run in this list? NFS died about ... ehm... 23-ish titles ago. Driver SF even better?? of coouuurse and where's ultimate bobbycar racing redux? At least 1 and 2 are just perfect judgement

Best Fighting Game: Moooortaaaalll Kooombaaaat dun dun dun dun dundun dun dun... and so on. Nuff said. Good looking list.

Best Motion Game: Swap Zelda (the hype again, right?) and Child of Eden and the list looks good.

Best Independent Game: Of course Minecraft. For hypes sake. Bastion is better and other, better games are not even in the list

Best Adapted Game: of course Batman. And what the heck does Lego do in there? Me, being an AFOL (adult fan of lego that is), I hate those games because there's like 80% virtual landscape, 20% lego. Please, 100% lego or no lego at all!!

Best Song in a Game: Bastion 2x. I agree. Haven't heard a better soundtrack in a while.

Best Original Score: Where's Skyrim? Ok I have to admit it's score is not as great as Oblivions score, but then again the whole game is not as funky and shiny as Oblivion due to the setting, so the score gotta be more laid back to suit it's needs

Best Graphics: no no no no no... Uncharted looks nice. granted. but Batman looks much better and LA Noire has the most kickbutt technique available, some techies (me included) call it a milestone. So why 3rd and not first?

Best Male: Portal on 1 and 2? oh come on... scratch one, lift Hamill on first place and make room for someone else.

Best Femalie: Portal 2x again? Who's on which paylist here? Leave Emily Rose in the list on first place, scratch Ellen Mclain and get another girl here.

Best DL Game: perfect list.

Best DLC: Portal again? Now seriously who's Valve's salery here? what's so special about that poorly meshed dlc of a few tasks? Old World Blues was the best DLC in 2011. Period.

NFL Blitz Cover Vote: Where's Larry Fitzgerald? Where's Drew Brees?

Character of the Year: at least some sanity here with portal on 4th and Joker on first.

Most Anticipated Game: ME3??? Cmon more anticipation that Skyrim and Diablo 3 ain't possible. Thats what happens in a world where someone said only shooter games matter

Trailer of the Year: Definitely Revelations. Haven't seen a better trailer for years.

Well for "Best PC/360/ps3 game", they should have actually chosen titles that are specific to those consoles.

For PS3 i think Uncharted 3 was good. LBP2 could have made it as well. But forget Killzone. Killzone is Sony's whore for all it's new features. (3-D and PSmove)

For the Wii, Definitely Skyward Sword.

360, I don't see how a game which is on multiple consoles can win BEST XBOX TITLE

PC, despite Minecraft's "All hype" crap I would have gone with that. But I don't see how games like Shogun 2: Total War isn't even on there.

Best shooter: Well this is just like saying what polished turd looks the least like a turd. Don't get me wrong shooters have among the best graphics out of any games on the market (Rage) but their gameplay is the same re-hashed crap over and over agian.

For best Voicing, Wheatley and GladOs definitely belong there.

If it wasn't for Skyrim I would have said Portal 2 should get GOTY. (My own opinion)

For best multiplayer I'm surprised a shooter didn't get out on top and am really happy Portal 2 did.

One thing I'm depressed at is that LIMBO wasn't on there anywhere. Not even for best Indie game.

One of the things I'm so greatful about the SPIKE awards. It seems as if they are one of the few awards cereimonies who's judges were not filled with fanboys and actually judge games based on their true merit. (Aside from a few exceptions of course... as with everything)

from the sales, MW3 should even be better, just read the news that MW3 scored a record with one billion dollar in the first 16 days, outranking the movie Avatar who needed one day longer for this enormous number

I haven't even played trough most of these games or even started playing them yet although I got many of them sitting on my shelf. I'm surprised to see so many of the top ranking games are those released this fall. I'm glad Skyrim did so well it really deserves the praise. I was most interested in seeing how the games I have bought did and most did well.

Best rpg top 3 Skyrim, Dark Souls and Deus Ex all of them are good games and I look forward to completing Deus Ex.

Best PS3 games happy to see Uncharted 3 and Infamous 2 there, Killzone 3 could be replaced by Resistance 3.

I could have put Infamous 2 as the best PS3 game but I think Uncharted 3 deserves it too. Its really hard for me to say because I enjoyed them both but for me they are also the two best exclusives that were released for PS3 this year. Uncharted 3 also won for the best graphics but if you look at the 2nd and 3ed place the competition was really tough and any out of those three could have won the 1st place.

I'm glad that Batman Arkham City and AC Revelations did well, those two games are still sitting on my shelf but I'm looking forward to play them during X-mas Holiday. I have got a taste of them both already though.

Yeah Last year was a bigger year for Strategy with Civ V and Starcraft, etc... but I feel I wouldn't be surprised if there was preferential treatment of certain major developers as a form of ad hooking.

On the upside 2012 looks like its going to be big on many fronts. I am looking forward to Guild Wars 2 and maybe even Diablo 3, Skyrim will be nice to play once they get the game of the year edition that is essentially guaranteed from it.

Again. For "Best [console] game" They should choose console exclusives. It's beyond me why Skyrim wins in 2 categories and Portal for PS3.

For me this Screw Attack Top 10 GOTY is the best list I have seen and all the games where put on there according to how many voted for them on Screw Attacks site. This list holds a bunch of great surprises for any gamer,just watch and enjoy!
