The cb?? family range of textures is now reserved for SUICO.

I shall now download all of your lots to see what you have created, and add them to the Index.

I would be grateful if anyone else who has created a texture, and included it in a lot they have uploaded, could let me know so I can include it the Index.

    Obrigado SUICO!

Geoffhaw, SUICO,...we should probably try and space them out a little more than that. CB is right after CA...I mean I don't anticipate filling up CA in the next couple of days or anything, but a little more buffer in the beginning here might be wise!

I agree in principal, but as SUICO probably created his textures some time ago, he has precedence on this occasion.  (Anyway, I can understand why he chose CB, probably short for CBF eh SUICO?  Football fans will understand this!44.gif)

However, cerulean's point is valid.  If anyone is thinking of going into major textile production, and wants to reserve a range of Families, could they please choose a range that's not too close to an existing one.  Just download the Index attached to a previous post in this thread, and see what's available.  There are still about 240 to pick from!

Just read some of this thread and see a small problem. I've been using ba since last October and have over 20 base textures in circulation. They all start with ba62 up to ba64 and I keep a log of all numbers used.

I've just emailed GrampaAl with the information on your texture numbering, couchpotato. We shall grab another set of numbers just in case9.gif

Thanks Barby Those ba62- ba64 will cover 300 textures and I can't imagine creating more than that. The total Instance is ba6201d4-0 for the five images. Keep in mind that the numbering system is like:
ba0001a(4-0) so you have ba(00-ff)(00-99)(a-z) - you're talking thousands of textures. It's great that we have a place to keep track of who's using what numbers tho... thanks
Does anyone know what Peg's numbers were?

couchpotato, geoffhaw attached a spreadsheet to one of the previous posts that lists all that have been used to date. There's also an xml version of the information.

    Good morning all:

I have agreed with geoffhaw that BLS GA will use the 0xba00 thru 0xba5f series, and couchpotato will use the 0xba60 thru 0xbaff set. This is more than enough room. And if we should find anyone needs more numbers, we can further make a few modifications to these numbers. However I don't see a need for quite a while as long as everyone coordinates with the BSX textures coordinator.

    Thanks all.

    Thanks GA...
I saw mention that you all would have to watch the STEX very carefully for conflicting numbers. Problem is, not all players post their textures at ST. There are sites all over the world offering buildings and possibly textures. This thread isn't even a sticky so how is everyone expected to know all this. You might consider writting something for Maxis Tuesday.

The third version of the BSC Texture Index for Base and Overlay textures has been released on the STEX.

    https://www.simtropolis.com/lots/details.cfm?id=3768

Whilst this is purely voluntary, the BSC team urges all Lot Builders to take into account the Instance (IID) Numbers that have already been used when designing new textures.  This is for the benefit of all members of our community.  Cases of IID Number conflict can have strange effects on the game, and can be avoided if care is taken to use only those numbers that have not already been taken.

Any Lot Builder is welcome to have a range of numbers reserved for themselves

Great work on the texture index, coincidentially somebody contacted me about missing textures in my lot the same day when version 3 was published.

However, I found a mistake in your list. IIDs 262a3000, 262b3000, 262c3000, 262d3000 are listed as textures from the Airforce Base plugin. This is not correct, they are located in the Kunjungjon (asian temple) landmark from Maxis.

    Yes, you're quite right!

I can see what I did...in the Reader the Air Force Base is the entry above the Kunjungjon Temple, and I misread the line.  Thanks for telling me and I'll correct it for version 4.

    Geoffhaw,

I just recently uploaded a set of crosswalk lots to the STEX. They contain custom overlays for each lot:

    Avenue Crosswalk Overlays: A3868600-A3868604

One Way Road Crosswalk Overlays: A3868700-A3868704

    Road Crosswalk Overlays: A3868300-A3868304

    Street Crosswalk Overlays: A3868400-A3868404

Sorry about my numbering squences. I have the numbering system that I use stored in a notepad file called HEX. The A38 is my initials JCH converted into HEX. If you want I can send you that document...

I'd like to reserve a range, lets see, how would 90000000 - 96ffffff do? I won't be using these for a while, but eventually I will be using them.

The fourth version of the BSC Texture Index for Base and Overlay textures has been released on the STEX.

My thanks go to all those who have contributed to it, and to those who have requested reserved ranges.  We are perhaps one step further away from chaos!  Apart from additions to the reserved ranges, there is an important change for IIDs starting with

Since Builderman reserved a set of numbers, I would like to reserve A3868000 through A3868FFF. This is the range of my FSH files that I have and will be using. Most of them are the skins that I am doing vehicles with at this time. The five ranges I have mentioned earlier are the overlays that I have made.

The numbering is my custom numbering sequence of letters tranferred into hexidecimal. In the Hex.txt document on my computer, the first three digits are my initials. The middle two digits indicate to me the file type. A3868000 appears as JCHFH000 in my document. The FH stands for FSH Files. Just thought I would explain my obscure number system...
