Has anyone seen a graphical error like this on the region map?

I'm seeing it in two regions - one that I imported from this website, and then I just started a new blank plains region to play around, and after starting a city in one of the large maps I am seeing the same error. The one with Gotham City is the imported region - I saw it here first, then I opened up some of the maps and saved without starting a city just to get the colors right, and I see the same thing. But, since I'm seeing the same thing in a new region that hasn't been mucked with outside of SC4, I guess it's probably not the map. I just went through and changed several graphic options, and nothing seems to affect it - resolution, hard/software rendering, color bit, etcetera.

Go back into the city and just save again, you may have disrupted the save process and it couldn't finish saving.

Yeah, I can see that. It's as if it wasn't able to fully save the "thumbnail," as it were, of the city area. But, this is apparently happening for all regions, regardless of whether or not they have a city. I just imported a new region, opened and saved three large areas, and the same thing happened. I also went back and loaded the default "Berlin" region that ships with SC4, and opened and saved one of the large city areas in that region and the same thing happens.

I don't think it would be a problem, but I am running Windows XP under Parallels, and I'm running the "Origin" (that's EA's digital distribution software, like Steam) version of SC4, which is apparently v1.1.641.0. I just downloaded it a few days ago. I was looking at some of the patches over at the sc4devotion site, and noticed that they are suggesting v 1.1.638.x or something close? Not sure if that makes a difference, but after hearing your suggestion, I wonder if it's just a visual glitch I'm going to have to look at. Truly, it doesn't affect gameplay at all. The map looks correct when I get into the city area.

It is a known issue with the game, it is caused when the region is rendered at a vertical resolution of 1200, or higher. Try saving the cities at a lower resolution, then go back the higher resolution. Sometimes it works.

This is a harmless bug. Nothing is lost, so if you just ignore it, it will be fine, too.
