Have you wait a few in-game months? The game seems to take some time to find the right routes. This happens to me too and after a while, the zots dissapear and everything is fine.

Initial no-road zots seem to be a symptom of the path-finding algorithm's inability to find a route to work right away, and often needs a subsequent pass of the program to correct this little glitch. As the city grows this happens more and more frequently. It is harmless.

I spent around 3 days building up to a metropolis and now I have this exact same problem. 1/3 of my city has the annoying no road connection above it. Attached a picture in case anyone else dosen't know what I'm reffering to or has the same problem.Anyone know what I could do to resolve this issue on a large scale?

If these zots persist more than a few sim-months, use the zones view to check the arrows really are pointed to the road. Also you can use the extra cheats .dll command drawpaths to verify that there are paths between work sites and the residentials. The off command for the paths is hidepaths.

I know this post is old, but this is the closest issue that matches my problem. Even at 22,000 residents, I'm getting the zot left, right and center, and yes, I have checked the arrows, and the drawpaths thingie has not helped me at all. So I was wondering, is there some mod out there that fixes the problem by now? And if not, is there some way to fix it through the programs file of the game?

^ You accidentally wrote your message inside of the quotes  ;)

Anyway, it's just a side-effect of the pathfinder.  The pathfinding engine has been fixed to the fullest extent possible by the NAM--there are parts of it that just can't be altered since they're locked inside the EXE.  As long as you have plenty of jobs and neighbor connections, the zots will go away eventually.  In short, there's no way to fix it.

It's only a problem if your buildings become abandoned.  And that would mean you have other problems.  (Not enough jobs, not enough mass transit, etc.)

    Yeah, my bad :D

Anyway, thanks for responding. As for me, the zots don't go away. Building after building goes vacant. I don't believe that it's from the lack of jobs. A couple of medium density commercial buildings have no commuters, and one has even been abandoned from the lack of workforce. I have a bus stop on every block, and I have a tram going right down the middle of the busiest avenue in the city.

I was wondering if the computer's performance could affect the pathfinder.

You can remove zots of all types currently in the display with the command CTRL+xtastyzots<return>

That they have such a command indicates they didn't find out why the zots sometimes get stuck.
