BTE farms vs SPAM

I've just recently reloaded SC4 on a new computer and I have been enjoying a lot of the new mods and BATs. I would like to develop a farming area in my region and I can't decide which route to take - BTE Farms or SPAM. The SPAM mod is new and alters the farming game play, which may be fun, but I like the variety of the BTE farms and some of the rewards buildings. Any thoughts from folks who've played both, or have an opinion on one or the other. Thanks.

Haven't used BTE, but I find the SPAM with all of its accessories (get it from the PEG site) to be beneficial. Do not load the SPAM controller if you run the NAM. They are incompaible.

Thanks, I'm leaning toward using SPAM. Is there a good variety of farms?

Yes, and you can customize the daylights out of them if you want. Take a look at the add-on called SPIM. You can have a private network of streets within the farming area that are not really connected to the outside world. There is also the neat trick that if you zone exactly 4 x 4, instead of a farm, you get a well, and a field of some kind. There is also a set of ploppable fields (1 x 1) to make up gaps, and some of them are for diagonals. Take a good hard look at the SPAM section over at Pegasus.
